Do you have a budget? I'm not sure I'd be familiar with your currency. NVIDIA still makes some good AGP cards - look around on www.newegg.com or something local.

I was recommended to get a 6600gt because of low-cost high-performance reasons. I think there are better nVidia chips out there for the AGP. Don't get an ATI chip as the last generation of cards for the AGP slot doesn't measure up against nVidia's last generation of cards.

I would recommend an ATI 1650 Pro, or an Nvidia 7600 GS. The two best AGP cards out as to my knowledge. But, there are cheaper ones if you don't want to spend $150.

I second the 7600 GS. Very good card.

Is it possible that some cards only work with AGP 8x slots? I'm not quite sure.

I have a 7800GS AGP and it is pretty good, and not that expensive anymore.

I could be mistaken, but doesn't AGP scale down? So if you put an 8x in a 4x slot, it'll run as if 4x?
