How to edit a demo?

Postby Cable on Thu Nov 16, 2006 10:37 am

I want to download the NHL 98 demo so I can play it at school, but it only works if it's in the C drive. The problem is that at school I save stuff to an X drive, I can't save anything to the C drive. I downloaded it to my PC at home, but if I try to move the files to a different location it doesn't work. Do any of you know how to edit the files so it will read from a different location? Or am I out of luck? :(

play GTAIII or N64 ROMs instead.
Better, less system intensive

go to regedit

and look for the install directory of that game and try changing it. it's very risky though. especially if you haven't tried it.

Risky how? Risky for my system, or just the game?

EDIT: Holy crap I made it work. Sweet. Thanks Null. (Y)
