THE UFC OF COMIC BOOK/VIDEO GAME HEROES AND VILLIANS

Both King of Football and I discussed a mythical matc-up of potentially all of the greatest hero's in a round robin tourney. I have now gone one step further to create:

"THE ULTIMATE HERO-VILLIAN FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP"

at the following address:

In the spirit of March madness, and with the help of a favorite characters thread I created a field of 64 heroes from both video games and comics to see whom you belive would emerge from the ashes in a no holds/powers barred contest amongst the competitors. I figured I'd take a more systematic approach to the issue and like the field of 64, we can report on our picks in each progressive round. Once a few picks are provided in a given round we'll move on until we're down to the final two. For now, lets see who everyone picks in the field of 64. And I'm sorry, there was no play-in match, like in the NCAA's, but someone can always create another bracket with an NIT format for those who didn't make the cut.

Also, if you do make your selections it may be interesting for you to give us some feedback on why you made a given selection. And do note that I randomized the seedings to avoid potential mismatches that may have emerged.

The seedings are also present and you can just click the "predict it option" and click on who you think will win [of course your votes will help to determine the winners as well as through use of a computer simulation] and in the space provided between each character/hero you can enter the method by which you think the person will win by [e.g., K.O, TKFO, TKO, DQ, unanimous decision, split decision, late stoppage, etc.]. After a few votes I'll report the winners and move on to the next round.

And you can also let the flames begin on whom I was remiss to have left out. [Remember the NIT braket is sure to follow]

Here's just a sample of some of the first round match-ups that you'll find:

Gambit vs Zangief

Juggernaut vs. Dhalsim

Batman vs. Sagat

Hulk vs. Cyclops

Beast vs. Iron Man

Kung Lao vs. Wolverine

Bishop vs. Hercules

Ryu vs. Omega Red

Daredevil vs. Spiderman

I look forward to seeing how everyone fills this thing out.

P.S., My final four came down to Juggernaut, Magneto, Apocalypse, and Silver Surfer, just a preview.

Best,

P
