Some new stickied threads?

I figured I'd let you guys decide on this as opposed to me just doing it. At the moment, we have the following threads stickied:

Announce Your Birthday Here (721 replies)
Name Change Thread (1103 replies)
The NLSC Milestone Thread (324 replies)
The Letting Off Steam Thread (3424)
The Info/About You/Get To Know You Thread (745)
NLSC Basketball Profiles (544 replies)
I'll Be Away.../I'm Back (1032)

All of them serve a purpose of their own, IMO the Letting Off Steam Thread, I'll Be Away and the Info/About You thread are the only real "safe" threads. They serve a purpose and people tend to use them accordingly.

The Name Change thread is useful but seems to be more spam than people saying when they've changed their name... the milestone thread has come in handy aswell but isn't overly active... NLSC Basketball Profiles is dead for the most part and Announce Your Birthday is used fairly sparingly.

I wouldn't mind stickying some more recent, used threads, namely these...

Yes as much as I hate the rap thread, I did say if it was active I'd sticky it so here's what I want to know, how do I go about this. There are three poll options:

Sticky both threads and don't unsticky any existing threads

or

Sticky both threads and remove one or two existing threads (please nominate)

or

Don't sticky either thread and leave things how they are

The reason I'm not making this an actual poll is because I don't want some retard from Live 07 accidentely clicking General Talk and voting because they wouldn't care either way, so if you have any thoughts please post them.

sticky both, and dont unsticky any of the others. youre right, the others do serve a good purpose and have gotten a lot of mileage.

i dont care about the rap/r&b thread either. but cant argue with the numbers.

If the movie thread gets stickied, the Rap thread should too, but.... niether of those threads contain "vital info" that would merit a sticky for easy access. Those threads are always being posted in so therefore shouldn't be hard to find. My vote is:

Don't stick either thread, leave the:

Milestone thread (so not so "important" members can announce their milestone without starting a thread to say they have 1000 posts and thanking people, because that would happen quite often)

Letting Off Steam Thread (because people actually use this properly, and it provides some funny stories)

Info/About you etc. Thread (Obvious reasons)

Ill Be away/Im back (usefull if your wondering why your favorite patcher didn't fulfill your CF request, wondering where people are etc.)

Drop the Profiles, Name change and birthday threads. IMO the only things that should be stickied are things that would be useful, not popular.

Although the Announce Your Birthday is a self-whoring attention seeking thread, it's a good thread for every member's special day. We could have been kept in the dark of Andrew's b-day if it wasn't for that thread (unless Andrew posted it's his bday in the main page).
Milestone thread = lessens the spam
Letting off Steam, also lessens spam and contributes some stories, as mentioned.
Info thread is also useful in really knowing some of the members.

Basketball Profiles = lying sons of bitches.
I'll Be Away, I'm Back - posters come and go in the NLSC, some for a reason while some without. Who cares about some chump going on vacation? The valued members of the Community will always be known if they around or not and the reasons for it.

I reckon the Movies and Rap threads are probably overdue to be stickied. The name change thread's probably superfluous at this point, the birthday, "I'll be away" and basketball profiles threads probably don't need to be stickied either.

I think that the "I'll Be Away.../I'm Back" could be unstickied....why not have people use their custom titles to say gone, be back so & so date....mods & admin would post in nlsc issues regarding their departures....and before anyone says anything about "what about people without custom titles?"....they're new & I'm sure no one really would notice or give a shit if they go....I'm sure even a few of us will be happy

I don't think "The Info/About You/Get To Know You Thread" is absolutely necessary....I like to learn about other posters through reading their general posts....I don't know if I've ever read the info/getting to know you thread ever....although I could be wrong....maybe I posted in it once because I was bored....

the others don't really need to be, although Rap can be I guess

I don't think stickying the 'Rap/RnB Thread' is all that necessary. It's always on the first page and we very rarely get threads about Rap/RnB outside of that thread anyways.. I could go either way though, but I'm leaning 51% on no and 49% on yes.

I agree, some of them can be unstickied, I wouldn't mind not seeing the name change, basketball profile and birthday thread being unstickied.

I wouldn't mind The Movies thread being stickied, but it isn't a must, it's mostly on the first page and almost everyone knows we have one.

The Rap/RnB one, I don't think so, it's a handful of people that keep that thread alive, I'm sure the majority doesn't check in to it. The handful of people that do, know where to find it.

Given we're on the issue, what's up with the announcement's & sticky's in General Live 07? My God, you have to scroll down half a page to find new threads.

I never noticed there were so many stickies. Your right, it does seem a bit too much and it does seem alot a couple of them dont need to be there like the one discussing the release date. Also all those threads about FSS.

Are not really important,I think I never go through thoose threads even if they show that there are new posts in them.In my opinion the three threads that I mentioned are for people who want to spam (mostly of them have a small post count,like 200 etc.I'm not really into the Rap thread,but I like to see whats new in the industry.Still its not worth of a sticky.The same goes for the Movies thread,it never die's and people that love movies know where to find it.
I would also like to point out that the Search button isn't all that useful.I can give the correct name of the thread that I want,but sometimes its still on the second page of the results it can be a bitch sometimes.

The Movies thread was on the 2nd page when I went to post on it yesterday, so it does tend to drop down. I'm pretty much 90% on stickying that, but there's some interesting ideas I hadn't thought of here

Every time I see "The Movies thread", I immediately assume it's about that silly-looking game "The Movies". Maybe the title could be changed, perhaps omitting "the".

I named it The Movies thread at the time, and I still like the title. I'm not up for renaming it, I like it the way it is.

It could be changed to "Movie Discussion Thread" I suppose but I've got no problem with it as it is. I'd like to hear from the rap thread people, it is pretty much only used by 3 or so people so I'd like to hear a case for it being stickied apart from sheer number of replies.

I don't think it should be stickied, the users who feel like posting about rap and hiphop are finding that thread now.

IMO stickies should be stuff everybody can relate to.

I say just take down the basketball profile sticky and leave everything else the way it is. I don't think the movie or the rap thread deserve to be stickied. The name change thread serves a purpose and even though it is rarely used it will come in handy if someone does change their name.

That is my two cents.
