Campaign fun

Postby Axel on Mon Oct 16, 2006 6:59 am

Elections are coming up soon, and tons of people where I live have campaign signs in their yard, at intersections, and random places around the roads.

Well last night, my friend and I had a little fun with the signs, grabbing all the ones from infront of unlit houses and all the intersections. Funny enough our principles of business teacher was the one who mentioned doing it in the past, and we got bored enough to do it. Riot you'll be glad to know we targeted the signs of this man, a former NFL player, and democrat.

Enjoy at your own risk :D

I don't think stealing signs out of someone's lawn is the way to go. It doesn't matter if I like the guy or not, they have a right to campaign with signs if they get permission of the owner's property to do so. It's not that big of a deal but I wouldn't do it.

I'm not big on politics but is this the election Hilary Clinton is running for President?

And since Bush can't come back for another term... what do you guys think will happen to America? Better or Worse off?

If Clinton does run for President she will be setting the Democrats up to fail. Not only does the country not need another Clinton back in office but I doubt the country is "ready" for a woman President. The Democrats could easily win the election against the Republicans in 2008 if they focus on getting the right person to run. Right now it appears they are focusing more on getting a minority in office than the right guy.

Whoever takes over will have a tough time due to the global situation right now. You cannot blame President Bush for all the problems this world is facing, which most people seem to do. We need a President who will not abandon the War on Terror or the War in Iraq. Perhaps a change in tactics will improve the situation on the battlefield but also at home and in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Overall, the 2008 election will be a huge election for both parties. The current election (2006) will probably be dominated by Democrats.

Personally, I don't think Bush has done half a bad job with everything he's done. Maybe some decisions may have seemed stupid but I think that it could have been for the better? Possibly. Not sure what you think of troops 'supposedly' staying in Iraq till 2010... I wouldn't know if that was good or not for Iraq and the rest of the World. And I guess you can't blame all the civillian deaths in Iraq on Bush alone...

Will be interesting how he handles the latest North Korea issue. If he and America can get together with China and the two can become 'fringe allies as such' then I think it would it could help settle things down around the Korean area. But again, I don't know too much so, if I'm wrong tell me. Anyhow; I just hope Bush and America tread carefully and don't say anything stupid about China and Russia because I don't think the World needs that.

Though I personnally like Hilary Clinton, I think if she ran she'd probably lose, and she'd divide America a lot. I hope John McCain runs cuz I think he'd win it no problem.

If John Stewart and Stephen Colbert ran though, they'd have my vote for sure.

McCain would not win the Republican primaries.

This is an mid-term election year. A number of state governorships, every House seat and a third of Senate seats.

As of now. The Democrats will be winning control of the House and narrowing the Senate (likely outcome a tie) lead of the Republicans.

The Democrats will attempt to thwart Bush at every turn, undermine the effort against Islamism and other foes. Will eliminate the 2003 tax cuts and turn the knife in Entitlement Reform damaging the economy. Bush will not be impeached despite hopes and dreams of the Left.

Hillary Clinton will win the Democratic nomination in 2008 if she desire it. She cannot be stopped. John McCain will never gain the Republican nomination as long as he continues to stab them in the back for popularity. (Even though, if anyone says they "like McCain" they unkowningly mean they "like Bush" as their policy positions are all the same.) Rudy Guiliani is the current frontrunner, and one hopes, the nominee. If he is, he will win New York from Hillary and with it the election. (Hillary cannot win solidly red states.) If the Republicans choose Mitt Romney or most other "presidental" Republicans they will have a tough time defeating the most powerful politican in the nation.

The Democratic Party stands for nothing but power and doing whatever it takes to win. The Republican Party no longer stands for anything, the Reagan Revolution died with George H.W. Bush in 1990, the Gingrich Revolution died when they overindulged on Clinton and perks, and the George W. Bush killed the Bush Revolution when he gave up on the Bush Doctrine and Social Security Reform.

A sane, rational, intelligent person can't vote for the Democratic Party and doesn't want to reward the Republicans for simply not being Democrats.
If John Stewart and Stephen Colbert ran though, they'd have my vote for sure.

Which is sad, almost as sad as the probability they would recieve a significant percentage of the vote.

Axel, FYI, be careful if you are going to be stealing campaign signs. Stealing campaing signs is a federal offense. Its kind of like tampering with an election. Now personally, I think its just boys being boys. Where I come from, we've been known to steal a sign or two, campaign and road included. Just becareful, if they catch you and want to crackdown, it can get real bad.
