I will base mine over the players I have seen play and know about and not players that I have heard great things about so this excludes players like Pele, Beckenbauer, Cruyff etc.
GK - Peter Schmeichel
In his day the best goalkeeper in the world
RB - Cafu
Got up and down the line all his career and is still going strong even at 36/37
LB - Roberto Carlos
Again another flying machine up and down the touchline every game
CB - Paolo Maldini
Very composed and solid defender over the past 20 years
CB - Tony Adams
Top defender and leader who was under-rated across Europe in defence
RM - David Beckham
Nowadays is under-rated but when playing for Manchester Utd there was no better winger in the world.
LM - George Best
Pele said this guy was the best player ever. Comes from Belfast too
CM - Roy Keane
Best centre midfield player over the last ten years imo. Leader and a winner.
CM - Zinedine Zidane
Easily the best player in the world from 98-02 and is an all-time great.
CF - Ronaldo
Not as good as he once was but was an unbelievable player before the 98 WC.
CF - Eric Cantona
So unpredictable and amazing to watch.
