It was all over ESPN last night… truly tragic… to think I rooted for him when they faced Miami back in that Championship bowl game

this guy had the chance to do something great and make a great name for himself. instead his ego fucks him up. this is a sad story, i hope that one day he makes it back to football and has a great career, if he doesnt hes either gonna end up in jail for the rest of his life or even worse, face down on the pavement.

Yeah this guy fucked up his NFL chances...I still remember when Denver made a publicity stunt drafting Clarett on the final pick of the 3rd round, then cutting him later.

Clarrett has been in trouble ever since his junior year. Its really sad because he wouldv'e easily made an NFL team.

No matter what, I just can't understand why people mess themselves up from a great oppurtunity and then there are people who wish they had the same oppurtunity as them and could probably actually run with it rather than ruin it. :shake:

I never meant in that much detail. But it was really easy to tell that Clarrett would be getting into some serious trouble.

And nobody was saying that they predicted exactly what was going to happen. Just that everyone knew Clarrett was going to be getting himself into some stupid shit involving the law. And that the exact specifics aren't surprising at all.

I feel bad for him, he really screwed up his life. Like Jing, I was also rooting for him in the championship game against Miami... I thought for sure he'd be a standout in the NFL.

You didn't hear what I was sayin. I meant if it wasn't for him challenging the NFL eligibility rules, he would have made an NFL team after his junior year at Ohio St.

It's great news for everyone that he was caught because with a bullet proof vest and 4 loaded guns he was up to no good. He could have been killed or killed someone if he hadn't been pulled over. He should be thanking the police officers.

The Tom Friend article is really great, and I recommend that everyone reads it before giving their opinion. If you really thinking about the mental and emotional state that Clarett is currently in, you can't help but find this sad. There's nothing wrong with feeling bad for a guy, while also blaming him for his own actions.

I'm yet to read the article, but there is a deeper issue to all this then just Maurice Clarett's story. To me, this shows the cutthroat society we do live in, that even something like sport and being gifted and a special athlete can truely be a curse. Clarett has obvious problems, but whats most disturbing is he had more help from the media and boosters while he was delivering a national championship to ohio state. Now that he truely needs the help, people have washed their hands of him.

Thats why I truely dislike the media, and also the ignorance and close mindedness of fans.
