Whats your opinion on people that are freeloaders or whatnot? Jesus Christ, I made the sidekick thread since I'm planning on buying a sidekick, I went to the t-mobile store with a few friends and holy shit bro, I haven't even BOUGHT the phone and they are already asking to use it. Shit like that gets me angered, is it me or is there always that one friend or so that always finds his way to your house just to hang out, but while hes there he takes your food, computer, tv and all that. I know a kid who is on AIM 24/7, and the stupid thing is that he doesn't have a computer, he bounces from house to house using peoples computers. He's a good friend and all, but I hate that. Anyways, what are your opinions on people like that, and do you guys have friends like that? How do you stop it. BTW, I'm pretty sure everyone atleast knows one person like that.

Just sit him down and talk to him:

You: Listen X, we need to talk
X: Yeah, sure, about what?
You: About you, Ive put up with it for a while, and now Im fed up with you constantly borrowing my stuff, I mean come on dude, if you need, Ill help you out, like amy friend would, but youre gonna have to repay me as time goes on
X: What, come one man! I thought you and me were friends, you wanta be like that
You: Yeah, you know what I am, youd better get yourself a job and prove that you dont need to live off me like a friggin free loader
X: You know what I will, just to laugh in your face
(X storms out)

After he calms down, and hopefully has gotten a job:

You: Listen, maybe I could have brought it up in a better way, If you need something, Ill be glad to lend it to you once in a while, but I dont want you to live off of me. Its for your own good, man...
X: Yeah, I suppose, Im sorry

and if he doesnt listen, if he ever asks to borrow simething just say this clearly and loudly:

NO

When I was in a phone store once this girl was getting her mom to buy her a phone, and was really picky about it, and I heard her say it was her third phone or something... now THAT pisses me off.

Considering I don't really own anything... I don't really have anything anyone would want to borrow, so I don't really have that problem. Maybe you should just be happy you have a sidekick, lol :P

It does piss me off greatly when people are constantly hounding me to let them play my banjo (even after I explain in much detail the monetary and sentimental value it has to me, not to mention the amount of energy I put into making sure it stays pretty and scratch-free). So I guess I can agree with you, but in the condition that the person continues to do it AFTER you've told them to stop. If they never realize they do it, you can't really blame them, can you?

Teenagers these days beg their parents for cell phones and then kill the minutes talking to their friends about pet peeves and what happened on that day, or what they got at the mall.

But yeah... I am sort of like your friends, but I only ask to use the phone when I need it.

None of my friends are like that so I'm probably not as irritated about it as you are Doobie, but having said that if I did have any friends like that, I'm sure it'd piss me off immensely. I feel that good friends should be able to ask each other for favours and such but there's give and take in any relationship. I don't believe in "keeping receipts" so to speak because that's not what friendship is about but if you're constantly being generous and can't rely on the other person for anything except company when you've got something to share then that other person isn't much of a friend at all. I hate to sound cliche but friends don't use each other, plain and simple.

Damn, you think you got it bad. I got alot of friends that aren't freeloaders, but the ones that are just associates are the main ones. They'll ask you about taking you somewhere all the time because you have a car and off no gas money. Asking for money at school for their lunch, but never say they'll pay you back. Trying to use the minutes up on your phone and they have their own phone. Some people even asked me can they wear my shoes and I don't even know them like that. I can go on and on, but I try not to let it bother me.

I had a freeloading friend back in high school. Ate everthing, drank everything...just plain used everything. He used to come over, stay til late then say he's too tired to go catch a taxi home and sleep over. Used to piss the living shit outta. What else is that he was dirty as shit, whenever he took a shower he would leave layers of dirt on the side of the tub. I remeber my helper looked at me and asked what the hell "I" was doing to make it so dirty.

The last straw was when he asked if he could bring a girl over and I said fine since I once brought a girl to his house. He brought her over then acted as though the house was his so he could impress her. Then she started looking at me as though I was the extra man. Since that day he never stepped foot on my property ever again.

Not that I told him not to come but because I transferred schools soon after and moved to my aunt's

my brother once asked my parents if he could call one of his mates on the house phone, cause he didnt want to waste the credit on his own phone.

My friend's do that all the time at each other's house. And I would if I had a cell. Makes sense.

A lot of my friends and I have a give-take thing. There isn't one dude that just tags along and doesn't contribute shit.

I don't see it as that big of a problem. If it doesn't effect you negatively, then what's the big deal. If they get in the way or use stuff when you wanna, just kick em off.

It gets a bit wierd in Mafia's case when they wanna wear your shoes. :eh: And asking people for money without the intention of paying them back is a shit-bloke kind of a thing to do.

I think you've got to consider that Mafia has about 9 thousand pairs of shoes, so it's not too strange in the scheme of things. I'm surprised Mazzocchi's friends don't borrow his jerseys... unless they're too emo for that :P

Some of my friends are freeloaders too... I live near school and they always say they wanna take a quick shower at my place and I hate people messing up my room or dirtying my toilet. So I just tell them my mom and dad hates children.. It works perfectly (Y)
