My parents split up yesterday and I honestly wasn't upset as I kind of saw it coming.
They had been having alot of arguements and such regualrly about the smallest things and my dad wouldn't come home home at times, or return and leave straight away without answering.
They explained to me why it wasn't working out anymore. Im real close to my mum but was never really that close to my dad, he wasn't really that good of a role model; not someone you would want to be around.
Anyways, I've been thinking about the problems/issues in my family and wondered if its common to have family issues at around my age. (17)
Did any of you guys have family issues? Discuss..

I've never really had any issues in my family but I know people who have. It happens and you just have to deal with it in your own way.
Sad to hear the news because I always feel its best to have both parents around. My father passed away some time ago so I have delt with the single parent thing for a little while but now I live on my own so....

yeh i havent had any issues like this with my family either
and it is sad to hear it, ive got alot of friends that have been through the same thing and they seem to end up fine so i wish the best for you and your family

Not much issues really...except when I was in my teens and exaggerated things in my mind. My parents fight from time to time but that's kinda normal now. I don't think my dad's a great dad in terms of the whole being a role model thing etc but he's pretty supportive at times. we just dont have anything in common except maybe wrestling and food

Most of my family, outside of my mum/brother are completely nuts in one way or another

man have I got some stories...
None of which I particularly want to share with a bunch of people I don't know on an international message board but still.

my parents never seperated, but they've been living apart due to work.
they getting back togather though in a month when we are all moving to my dad's new house... though i stay where i am for university..
seems like most guys are close with their mom's
you should have just told your parents to shut the fuck up and stop acting like 4 year olds when they are fighting, it works wonders... sometimes. othertimes you get tossed out of the house.

I think every family has issues in one way or another, whether it be small or extreme.
Me personally, my parents split up when i was 4. They never even married. Pretty sad times for a toddler, but i can't really remember it much anyway. I've had a pretty wierd family situation most of my life. But i turned out just fine.
(Hold me
Feed me attention! i stabbed a priest yesterday! daddy wasnt therrrre! WAH!)

Nah. But seriously, 17 would be harder, because you actually know what's going on. In fact that stage of your life would probably be hardest time of all to put up with a split. But it doesn't sound like you're too distraught about it...

I think everybody knows I have family issues...
Sat Jun 24, 2006 1:33 am
I don't have lots of family issues...I sometimes fight with my dad because I'm exactly like him, I mean we're the same person sometimes (my mom always says that) but he's not that serious, and it all finishes after 5 minutes. And sometimes I fight with both of my parents when I get low grades, but that's it, we don't fight that much because my parents, when they were younger had lots of family issues and don't want me and my sisters to have them too.

I guess I'm the only one who sees the humor I brought into this thread. If you read the gay marriage thread you'll know excatly what I am talking about (atleast I would hope so).

It's never funny when someone talks about your parents...

Oh shit, you are right. I forgot we had a forum full of suicidal emos. My bad.

Fuck the double post...I have something to get off my chest.
You guys say gay marriage is okay and being homophobic is stupid. You guys say gay people are just like straight people and there is nothing funny about it. Fine. Then when I ask if his parents are gay you guys assume it is an insult. You guys should be ASHAMED of yourselves for thinking that is an insult. In today's world of gay marriage you can never be sure if it is a man/woman relationship.
I really expected more from all of you. Thinking that being gay is an insult is childish and moronic. How can you guys be so shallow-minded?
You guys make me sick...

I support freedom and peace. It just so happens that in today's world you must have to war to make peace. I don't like war just for the sake of war. But if i feel the war is justified then I will support it.

Being gay isn't a joke and I'm extremely offended that you would think so.
