A Little About The Head Coach

Image

Tice took over head coaching duties on an interim basis for the final game of the 2001 season, replacing Dennis Green, and then was officially named head coach on January 10, 2002. He became the sixth head coach in team history and the first former Viking player to assume the role.
Tice attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he played quarterback. He played tight end in the National Football League from 1981 to 1995 with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings. He was the offensive line coach for the Vikings prior to becoming the head coach
Tice gained a reputation for being one of the wittiest football coaches when it came to giving press conferences and right now in the NFL is the tallest coach, standing 6' 7".

The Chiefs were fired up, they selected heads but had lost the toss. Vikings elected to recieve and this match was underway with Kelly Campbell returning it to the 35 yard line.
The Vikings were the first to score on 3rd down with an amazing pass by Daunte Culpepper to Marcus Robinson for a 55 yard touchdown and Edinger convertered the easy extra point, but when he went for the kickoff, he had a horrble one and kicked it out on the full.
Kansas City convertered from this mistake and QB Green combined with TE Gonzalez for a 6 yard touchdown pass.
It just kept getting worse for Vikings when HB Michael Bennett injured his chest where he was tackled off the ball by Barber. Luckily he came on with 10 seconds left of the first and ran it in for a touchdown.
Chiefs couldn't convert on their next drive and were forced to kick a 30 yard field goal in the second.

When half time had come about the score was 10-14 in favour of the Vikings.

Image

Chiefs were pumped up for the second half and within a minute they were inside the 20, but they unable to capitalize because of 1 man, Pat Williams, he went for Todd Colins like a bear goes for his food, injuring him very badly. The Chiefs had to bring out Green and Pat Williams contiued dominating sacking him the next play.
We got an injury report on Todd Colins who suffered a concussion and would be out for the game.
When the Vikings got possession Brad Johnson threw a horrible pass and it got intercepted. The Chiefs finally got a touchdown thanks to their own Johnson who ran more than half of the field and gave his team a lead.
Surprisingly, the Chiefs opted to go for a 2 point conversion and they were successful.
On the next drive of the Vikings Brad Johnson redeemed himself with an enormous pass to Kelly Campbell who was like a bullet and got labelled "One of the fastest players" by the commentators. The Vikings also decided to go with a 2 point conversion.
Chiefs were just going from bad to worse when Williams intercepted a pass making a good run of about 20 yards to set up Michael Bennett the next play who decided to come back onto the field for a 53 yard touchdown and extending their lead by 8.
I guess the Vikings spoke to soon and the Chiefs responded with a 74 yard touchdown but were unable to convert the 2 point attempt.

The Chiefs QB Green got injured from none other than hard hitter Pat Williams. When the new QB came on he threw a stupid pass that went straight to Scott who dashed to the endzone. This would surely be the end of the Chiefs.
The Injury reports came in and it was a MCL Sprain, he would miss the rest of the game, but there wasn't much game left because there was only 1:00 left.

With 17 seconds to go Chiefs failed to get a 1st down and the Vikings just ran down the time to record a 36-27 win
