Powerpoint suggestions?

Fri May 19, 2006 10:47 am

Well I have to do a "personal" powerpoint and present it to the class next week. I'm wondering on what/who I should do it on. I'm torn between Nate Robinson(Knicks guard) and Roy Williams(Dallas Cowboys(NFL) Hard Hitting safety).

I'm planning on shitting on everybody in this project anyway because I'm a good ladder ahead of everyone as far as computer skills are concerned. The first one I did when I was a freshman was on Dwyane Wade when he was a rookie before everyone started jocking him. Anyway, I'm planning on the same kind of success as before.

I'm of course gonna have the slides, info, pics, animated gifs, etc, and at the end I'm gonna have a mix. Right now I'm thinking Roy Williams because I have those mixes available and I have to get to it tomorrow. But I had a perfect song for the Nate slideshow, Royce Da 5'9-I'm the King. But songs aren't a real problem for me. I'm using my mp3 player as a flashdrive too so I'm doubling up lol.

But any suggestions or ideas to add are welcome. I'm thinking of designing a template in photoshop too to use.

I did a ppt on Dirk Nowitzki for my german final, lol.

Do somebody who's older and has a cool story, somebody like Jalen Rose or Cliff Robinson or Chris Webber you can do the michigan fab five. Those guys will have some history so it'll be a bit more interesting i think, and you'll have more information, and more pictures, lol. Do some guy that was Huge in college and high school. I know in the movie Hoop Dreams they had some shots of Jalen Rose at the Alll American Camp.

Well, there are a few players with 'cool' stories in the NBA, well rather good stories actually.

Look up Caron Butler (somewhere? I heard his story on Oprah), Larry Hughes (why he went to StL Univ.), Dennis Rodman (I read his book, he used to play in the sewer  ).
I'm sure there are plenty more interesting stories, Trevor Ariza lost his lil' brother too, he fell off a balcony.

You could try somebody who was so famous in High School and was a HS basketball god, like Garnett or Tyson Chandler or Eddie Griffin or DeShawn Stevenson. DeShawn Stevenson is one of my favorite players to follow...

I'm doing Roy Williams. CK had a good suggestion and if I had a mix of Butler I'd do it. But things kidna fell into places so I got all my stuff together last night and I'm about 1/2 way done with it.

Yeah! Roy Williams is the best choice.

Movie clips are always a great addition to a slideshow. You can even save them off googlevideo for example, just adds some excitement to an (sometimes) otherwise boring show.

So is timed transitions you haven't practiced with so your powerpoint races through itself in about two minutes while you have seven minutes of presentation. This way they're focused on your content.

Also sounds that play extremely loudly and jarringly out of nowhere. Always good to keep the crowd awake.

Don't forget to make those transisitions completely overdrawn and unecessarily flashy. You want your audience going "hot damn that was a great way to get to the next slide."

And most importantly put the exact text you're going to say on the powerpoint and read off of it to insure against conflicts. This way it's a double whammy of information.

I almost forgot, you need to be smug and arrogant about your greatness in making powerpoints. No one gets respect like someone who uses powerpoint. You're the one doing the presentation, not them. You are better than them, you know it, and they know it. So act like it.
