What now follows is a brief look back at my history of NBA Live gaming and NLSC.
The first basketball game I installed on my reliable Pentium 533 (that I still have) was NBA Live 2000. This was the year I really got into NBA as well, I remember those Vince Carter dunk contest clips from NBA.com. Crappy AVI, I still have them on my hd. Anyway, NBA Live 2000 was one of the greatest basketball games ever. I even bought a dvd edition later. But the game was great. It was so fun, the grapchics at the time were great and Jordan was in the game! I had many great memories from that game and managed to make a couple of patches last year.
NBA Live 2001 however was better in my opinion. Yea, I might seem crazy but to me it was a NBA gamers dream come true at the time. Visually the game took big leaps forward. EA could have easily took 2001's player models and put them into 2005 or even 06 and it would have looked good. I wasted a lot of time in this game and some of my favourite gaming moments are Live 2001 related. I had a franchise that went all the way to 2010.
Live 2001 was the first game I tried patching. Well at first I of course downloaded stuff from NLSC, Tony's and Steve's sites. It was fantastic to have a real Jordan in the Wizards' lineup instead of a created one. Tony's jersey and cyberface patches were something close to art. But I fucked up my game when I installed skin patches using blotch, and the dbf files got messed up. So I dropped the game for a while since many players had the gray skin and I didn't know how to fix it.
After Live 2002 came 2003, and for a while it was fun. The game itself could have been a new streetball game from EA. That's why NBA Live Street had the perfect timing. I made most of my patches for 2003. The game was easy to patch and due to that there was lots of patchers around. I had my own site that I used to release mine, then I submitted the files to the NLSC via the submit form. One day I got a e-mail from Tony Huml and he asked my why I wasn't announcing my work in NLSC and .org forums. Well, he basically showed me these forums. After that I started to visit this community regularly.
Live 2004 was a great game in my opinion, it made the necessary steps to establish a solid NBA Simulator franchise, breaking away from 2003's arcadish feel. 2004 didn't run well on my pc so I never got to play it much and never patched it much either.
2005 was the dunk contest, but the game itself disappointed me very much. The only thing that really satisfied me was the cyberfaces. But the game itself was something I don't want to go back to. I'd rather play 2001 or 2000 anyday. Same goes for 06 that I don't have, but have played at my friend.
I yesterday got NBA2k6 and EA Sports needs to step up. There are somethings that Live still does better, maybe through experience but 2k is moving forward faster than EA.
Now when I first started to post here, it was all about the patches for a while. I posted previews a bit before the release, took the comments and worked on the patch a bit. Then I started posting in General Talk and soon began browsing the whole forum. I still had my own site going that had my patches, but since the server was supposed to remove my account (which it never did, my site is still there), I joined Livedesing with Mitch, Ahmad and Kobe8Rice41. Later on I got asked to join NLSC and I accepted, it felt great to join a site that has been there since day one. JCLive was another project that unfortunately quietly faded away.
NLSC has always been a great community no matter what. I'm not sure what's the reason for that, maybe it has been lucky to have the best moderators and administrators, I don't know. I remember browsing the forum back in the black and blue days but I never registered. I registered to the first phpbb, the silver and orange (!!!) version. But it seems here that people are very genuine and willing to talk about almost anything. I read and post on another forums too, but they don't have that same feeling that NLSC has. I remember some of the funniest things I've ever read here at NLSC. It's just an internet messageboard, but a good one

Three years might not be that long for some of you, but for me on an internet forum, it is rather lot. It's like high school (!)
Now for the shoutouts:
I would like to thank everyone that has made my time here at NLSC so fun and enjoyable, here it goes
Tim, Lutz and Brien, of course, they started it. I never talked to them or anything but the work they had put in has to be appreciated.
Tony: What can I say about this guy that people don't know already. Best.Patcher.Ever.EVER! Some people waited his patches like children wait christmas presents. His 2001, 2003, 2004 stuff is unmatched. He and photoshop would have brought EA down singlehandedly, one of the guys they should recognize.
Andrew: The coolest admin I've ever seen. Always helping everyone, never disrespecting anyone. I hope that you continue to run NLSC for a while.
Andreas: One of the best guys around here. It's been fun talking to you everytime. And the shoes... too bad I haven't had the newer Lives to use the shoes myself.
Dramacydal: It was and is great having you around

Jackal: Whatever happened to JCLive? Oh well, you're a great guy and a great poster and always manage to give something to think about.
Cameron: You're one of the funniest guys I've talked with on msn

Nick:: You seem like a funny guy, althought I've never talked to you, you're one of the best and funniest posters around. To me at least.
Yohance: Been around here forever, I remember reading your posts the first day I got here. I remember the freestyle thread as well.
Tales: I'm not sure if I ever talked to him or not. But he was a great poster nonetheless. Funny too.
Cocobee: He was the guy that gave me a first impression of NLSC's friendly atmosphere. I remember me and Filip dissing the pinoy thread, but it took only one apologize, me and Cocobee were cool after that.
Colin: Have I ever talked to you via msn? I don't remember. Anyways you've always been a great poster in my opinion and one of those Phoenix fans that I actually don't dislike.
Steve: A great great patcher. He made the best shoes ever from Live 2000 to 2004 or something. Unbelieavble stuff. One of the guys EA should hire.
RuffRyder aka The Black Death: I might need a brain check soon, have I talked to you msn? You're a good poster

Jae: I don't know what's your impression of me, I've never talked to you, but since you're such a dominant force here nowadays, you deserve a shoutout.
Cklitsie: For some reason I like to see you posting here. I liked your patches, that's something I remember but I don't remember what patches were yours (???)
Mikki: Although not the always the best poster, the powerhouse of Live 04 and 05 patching. I can't believe how you managed to release that many patches. Something worth mentioning and more

Filip: Not maybe the most literate poster, but I liked talking to you via msn. Great guy

Jowe: Best jersey patcher ever. I remember posters drooling for your newest upcoming jersey texture! That's something

Alexboom: Great poster

Benji: I wasn't around here too early and have just learned how you have been involved in the community, but nbalive.org at the start seemed as miraculous as Miami's roster at the start of this season. Your roster patches are great

Seraph: Your total shoe patch saved my NBA Live 2005 experience. Thanks.
bchogan: Master of o-editing, best court patches. Rucker Park, pinnacle of NBA Live patching.

And if one of you old timers feel that I don't have an old timer included, I didn't know him, so therefore why should I give a shoutout?
And finally, some not so favourite members:
Kenkaian - Has this guy ever released a patch?
MikeBibby - This guy made my laugh, and aspiring artist/pimp/hustler/thug/rapper who just happened to drop by.
CoolMAC -

Now I might have forgotten someone, but if I remember who, I will add if necessary.
