LIGHTNESS, DARKNESS...help....

ei guys, can you help me out. i was having a very difficult time balancing the shadow of the face. here's a sample:



as you can see the right side of the face is darker than the left. what im trying to do is balance the lighting of the face which im having difficulty doing.

Please help me out guys!

Try adjusting the Contrast or Levels.

I use the dodge tool for this, might sound cheap. But just set the brush to a bigger size and just stroke it onto the part which is darker.
