that are like preferbally less than $9,000 (used)
and that would be good for me (an almost 18 year old getting his licence in 2 weeks, and is a pretty good driver)
and preferbally one with 4 doors.
(I currently have a 1992 Mercury Sable, but it's pretty much shot)

Annyone have anny suggestions?

EDIT:
more like $7,000

It is a 1999 Dodge Avenger that gets 21mpg (city) and 30mpg (highway). It costs $3,000 (or best offer) and it is located in New York. You can contact Jennifer Miller at 585-388-3570 or 585-388-0117

Avengers are good cars and I am thinking about getting one myself. It's got a few miles on it (122,000) but it should be good for a first car.

Obviously, you don't have to buy that one but look for something like that. It's a good car.

$7000 !?
Damn ... I wish I had that kinda cash.
I jus bought myself a car as well. 94 Honda Civic DX.
Not bad. Got it for $2500 and there is 80,000 on it.
Just added a new deck and fixed a few parts like added a new muffler, fender and might be adding new sound system.
It aint nothing special but at least it gets me around.

But ye Mazz, what kind of cars do you like ? European, Asian, etc.

You could probably pick up an old second hand Porsche, Jag or Benz for $9000... it might not look as good as some other cars you could get for the same price, but at least you could tell people you have a Porsche.

Check out any 4-door sedans by these manufacturers.

agreement. He won't get the chicks with it....but atleast he would get from A to B for less. An even better option would be toyota yaris. It gets 47 miles to the gallon.

If you look hard enough, you can find the car you really want. The best models to go with are probably Honda, Ford, Saturn, like cars built to last. Fortunately, I was able to get the car I wanted for the price my parents was willing top ay so depending on the type of car you like, maybe you can find it at the price your parents are willing to pay.

just buy an early 90's BMW, get the kind that was the first "new model" kind, when they switched from those tiny ugly 80's ones to the ones they used all through the 90's...
