NLSC instant messenger chats? - idea

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

NLSC instant messenger chats? - idea

Postby Axel on Fri Apr 21, 2006 3:17 pm

I kinda stole this idea from a forum I used to post at. We all got together on certain days and would hold a huge chat via yahoo messenger. Some people had a mic , and other just talked through the chat windows. Anyway, we all got to know each other pretty well, and gained a lot of friends through it... not to mention have a good time telling jokes, etc...

I'm wanting to know if anyone here would be up for something like that. I use yahoo primarily, but I can use aim too if that is more convenient for everyone who is willing to participate. The first few chats will probably have to be posted ahead of time in General Talk to get people introduced to it. When we did it, after awhile we had one everynight...

I also would need to know what times people are online and available for something like this... last board i was on was primarily American, so time zones weren't too big of a factor. Just wanting to get a feel for it and see if anyone else would like to participate.

Didn't we use to do this all the time? Over at dotorg, we called it a "dotorgy".

I think that would be a good idea. the only prob is that we would need to use the same program cuz most Americans use AIM while others use MSN. But since Windows Messenger is on all computers, I guess it could be easier that way.

First of all it wouldn't probably work, it'd lose interest since not everyone likes talking to eachother and secondly the "talkable" people are on at certain times. The rest of the time it'd be dead.

It's a whole lot of work for little compensation/result.

Lastly, tis an NLSC issue. (Wrong section.)

Well, "dotorgy" stemmed from other things. But ages, ages, ages, ago, we'd have large MSN chats. Then MSN removed the person limit or upped it, theoretically it's feasible.

People have tried the IRC chat room before. It's never stuck.

I just recommend finding people you like on the forum and adding them yourself and developing your own network of people to bother with your stupidity, links and stats.

it's a good idea, would probably start off with plenty of people in it and then slowly dissappear but it would be cool to get to know each other a little better. I've been here since some months and i haven't really been "involved" with everybody as in getting to know people. That would be really cool :D

I like the idea, although I am getting a bit sick of people adding me but never bothering to say anything

But ages, ages, ages, ago, we'd have large MSN chats.

Strangely, alot of them centered around Jim Basore.

I'm all for this, pretty good idea. Unlike you guys^^, I've got to know some of the members over here through instant messengers and they're all pretty good guys, some would probably be my friends if I'd live around them.

I remember back in like 2003 when we wanted to make a new mod for Live we used to get together on an instant messenger with all the NBA-Store.tk guys and some more.. :)

Lol I'm not the hacker, you're the one who hacks image hosting accounts *cough*

Lol I dont mind huge convorsations. NLSC-ers are fun to talk to, unless they're the retarted ones who added your email and say

"i find ur email on nba live website"
"do you wanna play online?"

They have no right to assume I play that piece of shit online.
