Ideas for a Political Cartoon

I gotta come up with 2 political cartoons and I'm a beyond decent artist, but I just need some inspiration. I was thinking of doing something with gas prices, but that'll probably turn up a little redundant, so I need some ideas.

Do one with the 911 operator ignoring that 5 year old's call. Draw the kid crying with his mom on the floor, and have him explaining everything into the phone receiver, then show the operator painting her nails or something to show that she's 'busy' and doesn't care about the call while telling him to stop fooling around with 911 and hanging up.

Just check the Times website (or any political news site) and look for the current political news. BBC or anything.
