The Washington Post did a poll the other day, it went as following:

What are your feelings on the religion of Islam?

The results showed that 48%, thats right 48%, of people admitted to having prejudices about Islam. Some of that population felt that the religion itself harbored bad notions towards non-Muslims. If there is anyone here who have a prejudice against Islam, I urge you to got the following website, and order a free Quran, and read it. You will then see what the true Islam is like. Remember, it is completely free of charge; you simply provide your address, and they will send it to you. To my fellow Muslims in this forum, we must show people that these prejudices are wrong by setting a good example with our actions.

I have do have a prejudice against some islamic folks, the ones that think their religion is the best thing ever to happen to mankind, the ones that use it as an excuse to blow stuff up & the ones that talk about that and that only all the fucking time.

I also think it's a bit uptight, you can't draw? Eh? Women should cover their hair? Eh? Religion is kickass and all, but there's no harm in adapting. Now I don't mean adapting to skimpy bikini's or halter tops, I mean adapting in making the culture of the country you live in a bit of your own, shit, I see so many turkish people over here, a large part of them can't even speak dutch.

Anyways, sorry for the rant, I'm probably wrong about it all so be all merry and keep on frolicking through life.

I have no real prejudices against Islam... it does annoy me sometimes though, but nothing anyone other religion wouldn't do. My friend is Jehovah's Witness, and some of the weird little things they 'cant do' are beyond me. Covering up the face with some garb? That's just as weird.... I honestly cannot believe that people let a book (and this goes for all religions) completely dictate their life! Have people not learned from The Communist Manifesto, that books can be extremely manipulative???? Yeah, maybe I'll read Mein Kampf and follow up on all of Hitlers ideas... (sarcasm).

That's my rant about religions in general. I don't feel uncomfortable around Muslims anymore than i would Christians or JWs.

ye i hate those kind of muslims too even tho i am muslim and they think they are muslim, i dont think they are muslims they just make all muslims look bad and den i hate people who judge the whole group just cuz of one person. like if 1 muslim does something wrong it makes the whole muslims bad people. that is like the same with african-american people if one black person does something wrong it makes the whole african americans bad people but that is not rite and i hate it

I think he meant it because Anthony15 said that 'I'm not Islamic',when really it is supposed to be 'I'm not Muslim' That is ok though, people will learn one way or another. Ignorance is not a crime, not seeking to findout the truth is. ( well not a crime, but u know waht i mean)

3. i love basketball and nba live, but the thing is, for me my studies come before b-ball. i go to a private boarding school, and though i dont board, the curriculum is very tough. i average like a 3.9 gpa, but it means that i dont have alot of free time, because besides academics, our school has mandatory sports, so we have practice evryday

Riot's talking about the ignorant, war-freak Muslims. Those cuckoo Jihadists that doesn't care if innocent people, including fellow Muslims, get killed by their actions.

I realize that most Muslims don't tolerate and accept those actions, but it's hard not to profile. Plus, I'm sick of Muslims getting upset at "Western culture" for sterotyping Muslims. Why don't you guys do something about the bitches who are giving you the bad name instead of the people who are observing from a distance? We don't want to hate Muslims, that isn't our goal, we just don't understand why there is so much hate in such a "loving" religion. And I don't understand why the "loving Muslims" don't stand up and confront the "extremist" Muslims.

They don't condone extremists, but because they're "loving Muslims," they don't believe in violence, perhaps?

I'm not saying they should go blow them up, because then they would be doing the same thing. But instead of getting upset at us why not get upset at the people who are giving them the bad image? I see guys like wisdom_kid defending guys like Osama Bin Laden and what not because they are Muslim. It's that kind of shit that pisses us off and gives them such a bad name. Show us that you guys are different and those guys are just a small fraction of the Muslim population. Show us that Islam is nothing like that.

Until that day happens, the West will few Islam as the religion of blood.

They are upset at the people who give them a bad image, but we also have Americans generalizing all Muslims to be potentially terrorists, and that upsets them as well. They're trying to show Islam as peaceful, and I see it on campus all the time, but what about you guys? Do you guys ever go to check what Islam is all about do you just sit back and listen to whatever the media throws at you?
