The black suit is not too special, though it looks cool. I can imagine it'd be hard to see Spiderman in the movie where there's lots of shadows. Then again, Batman's all black.

Um...it's basically Spider Man with the symbiote attached. (So not Venom...um yet anyhow) The symbiote eventually gets seperated from spider man and gets attached to Eddie Brock. Read the link if you don't understand what I'm saying.

I would have liked to see the actual symbiote costume than just a blackened version of his original suit. I thought the symbiote costume was pretty sweet.

True, but if Symbiote Spidey wore the costume from the comics, it would look too similar to Venom's. This way, at least there won't be confusion in any battle scenes. And besides, it kicks ass!

Didn't spider-man reject the symbiote and then go to Eddie? I'm pretty sure there'd be no mixup since Spider-Man would be facing Venom in his old costume.

You're right. (If you mean the symbiote went back to Eddie) But in ish: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN SUPER SPECIAL, Spidey does indeed battle Venom as a Symbiote on the Symbiote planet. And please, end this discussion. I'm slowly reverting to my geeky days.

What's there to confuse? Venom is a hulking brute compared to the lanky Spidey.
They even fight differently, Spidey relies on speed and agility while Venom fights with power and ability to extend his symbiote self.
Are moviegoers today too stupid to notice the huge difference?
