Plans for Life..

Postby Doobie on Wed Feb 22, 2006 1:10 am

Hey , once again I'm sitting here bored and started thinking about the future . I know it might be early , but I'm graduating high school in a year and a half . After that , my mother has plans to move to Florida , and I really don't want to move there . This moment I have to get my life in order and set a goal . So , basically I want to go to a university away from the east coast , maybe even the country. I have dreams of traveling the world , obviously I have that road trip planned for 08 , but I don't know if that will suceed. Basicaly , the farthest west I've been was Pensylvania , and I want to travel the country . I don't want to live the club / party life young guys are living now-a-days . My mom is moving to Miami , the party capital of the world , but I don't want to go there. I hope to take that roadtrip with my friends , and I hope it is succesful . I want to take a trip to Canada with my friends too , I might do that after senior year of H/S . Next year for spring break we have plans to go to The Dominican Republic , a resort or something. We plan alot , but I don't know if I'll ever suceed.

Basically , I want to go to college , and everytime I have free , visit somewhere new or something . Settle down somewhere and with someone in my late 20's , and be able to enjoy what life brings . I want to have a career working with computers , have a wife and a few kids . Do you (young) guys still sit down and think about your future? And for the (older) guys , did you suceed in life the way you wanted too?Thank you for all of those who gave your time to read this post , and for all those who put your input.

You have a lot of free time, Doobie. My plan is to finish school this year, and then move to Valparaiso with my girlfriend and go to a univeristy. Then, we'll move to another country and have nice jobs and then we'll be parents and our kids would be awesome and play in the NBA. OK, the last part won't be true, but the rest is how I imagine. I'll die when I'm 40

To get a person who has both a punani & a willie...in bed. :cheeky:

Then castrate it.

Plans, hmm, plans.

Finish bachelours, move onto masters, get a job, live a meaningless life, pop out a few kids, smack them around a bit, teach them to get punani and then die. Yay.

I only wish to provide for my family. Once you have children, there is no other choice, it is biologically compelling.

Yes Dweaver , I meant to ask you that . How many children do you have/want? Are you doing in life what you wanted to do? You have a lovely wife and you look happy , but what were your plans growing up? What did you want to do when you were younger?

How many children do you have/want?

I have 2, a boy and a girl. AS long as I can financially support them and my wife is willing, I can have up to 10 children, really. I love kids. It's a whole new life, living for someone else other than yourself.

Are you doing in life what you wanted to do?

Yes, absolutely. I feel almost blessed , and sometimes undeserving. But I try to work hard to earn it furthermore.

You have a lovely wife and you look happy , but what were your plans growing up?

Thank you. :D

Growing up, I made my plans, set my goals, wrote them down, and never stopped working and trying until I made them true. It's what's driving me still, and I could not live any other way.

As for specific plans, I always wanted to have a job interacting with people and making use of communication skills. And I believ I have found it.

What did you want to do when you were younger?

As I said, I pretty much always wanted to be an attorney, simply because it was the sum of all my wishes.

I see from your posts that you are making inquiries within yourself, which is always good. You are still very young, and trust me, you will make both prudent choices and grave errors. Just decide on your goals, write them down, and never take a step back until you can X them out in that old piece of paper. Trust me on this one.

I want to join the military and fight, after I get out I want to get my two year degree and become a police officer. I'd like to have a family but really I don't care. Serving my country and my people is more important to me.

I would like to live in Seattle or somewhere out on the West Coast. We'll see where I go.

I have one more year before my degree, and I'm doing very well academically. After graduation, I'll start marketing my own design firm which I'm developing and hopefully be a full time freelance graphic designer. If not, then I'll work full time for a company and work on my business part time. I'm 21, and my girlfriend's 22, and we share the same common interests, values, and goals, so I'm hoping things will work out between us in the long run which would lead to eventual marriage and a family before I grow old in retirement somewhere in the beaches of Italy and reflect back at the fulfilling and successful life I was blessed with.

You pretty much said what I was going to say, free will.

It wasn't a joke, it's pretty much how I see my life going, I just worded it in a childish manner. Isn't that we all do? We have these plans and word it differently, but we're all just looking to score, get an education, get a job, live our life doing whatever it is we're given to do & then we reproduce, go tee-hee at family bullshit and then we croak.

So I just word it differently.

Nope. not everyone has that "typical' plan, let alone have a cynical view about family life ;)

...

it's my turn in the batting order/chopping line for marriage. for the past year or so we've been saving up $ for the big day. And probably after the big day we'll have to keep on saving $ since I don't want to raise a family at my current residence/neighborhood. I'm looking into investing in those deals where you buy a lot out and have the house built up and then sell. We'd then use the profit from that and use it for the mortgage of our future home. This will all probably lead to me to getting a permanent 2nd job but fuck it.

My GF and I don't plan to have kids immediately. We would like to travel for a little bit- visit Spain to see the true roots of our culture then go back to our homeland, the Philippines.

Hopefully this will all be taken care within a span of 2-3yrs. Well at least the Wedding, traveling, and real estate investment. Then we could start seriously looking at what neighborhood where we'd want to raise a family in. Oh yeah- start the family too hehe

:hump: Nick's gonna be busy. :hump:

My sister + brother in law have found a good way of covering bills to say the least. My sister is studying medicine & my brother in law works in a department store, but he takes contracts under the table to work on houses. He completely rebuilds old houses on his own.

Anyways, the guy that gives the contracts has a lot of contacts with real estate agents so this is what they've done, he's taken out a loan from the bank & bought a whole apartment building. It's 4 stories high. Anyways, they are going to rent out the four floors & let the tenants pay off the loan taken from the bank while they keep doing their respective jobs/studies. After a year or two, he'll buy another building, he'll do the same & let the first building pay itself off. At the end of the road, they'll have two buildings, one floor to themselves and atleast 4 floors rented out.

I'm 18, all antillians have the "hardcore" attitude, it's the way you grow up over there. If you haven't been atleast 5 fights, you're titled a pussy & since the island is so small, by the end of the week, the whole week knows you're a pussy.

What would they do if they read your nlsc profile? Call you internet nerd pussy? :P

Well, i'm pretty worried, mainly because i don't have my long term goals, which i expected to have by now!

I have my short term goals, i'm going to work this year, save up some good money, then head to Uni etc. I know what i want to study. I just don't know what kind of career it would lead to, and i really need to figure that out, soon!

But i'm happy enough with my life how it is right now, and happy enough with myself, to just live life the way it's presented to me.

One day when i have everything figured out, i'll settle down and have kids, and live my life for someone other than myself. That'll probably be when i'm 28+. I look forward to having a family. (Y) I've been an only-child my whole life, with a single mum. She's been through various boyfriends, who have all been dead-shits. I've never had a male role model in my life, but it's not all bad. Because when i have a family i'm gonna strive not to be as bad as my previous step-dads were.

Only a year and a half ago my mum managed to settle down with a good guy and have a baby (she is 42), so yay for her! :bday:
