I remeber when I was younger I thought of paying for a prostitute. Then I went to high school and I realized there wasnt any need to do that anymore.

In places where prostitution is legal, it's actually considered a profession.

You can kind of see where they're coming from I suppose, but you could also suggest it promotes ignoring traffic rules and freely running over pedestrians and committing murder full stop. Until we have hordes of people imitating the game - which history suggests is very unlikely - I'm still on the side that says video games are not responsible for society's ills.

That said, I can understand people wanting to censor it and not allow their children to play the games. But I believe that in the end it's the parents' responsibility to monitor what they're children are playing, teach them correct values and impose censorship in the household. There are governing bodies associated with video games and other media that needs to take responsibility, but that doesn't absolve the consumer from any responsibiliy either.

But who would have thought we'd see concerned parents and prostitutes standing side by side, fighting for what they believe in?

Exactly. During the holidays, I saw parents BUYING San Andreas for their kids. Can't blame Rockstar for that.

See, that's what I don't get. How can someone complain about the content and claim ignorance when they've had a chance to see what it is and tell the kids "No, you're not playing this game"? The plot/concept is outlined on the box and the warnings are there. If you ignore those, you can't get upset and cry foul over a supposed lack of censorship when the opportunity to monitor and control what your kids are playing. Yet these parents do.

I guess I must be pretty good, looking up past court rulings all night, and finding time to post in an NBA forum in between... Feels good to work an all-nighter, eh?

What are they doing? They are killing off a avenue of free advertising for future customers (underage kiddies who play that have parents who don't give a shit about censorship)
"Keep this attire for my upcoming ring ceremony."
