Wow...that IS a lot of posts...

Nearly three years and 5000 posts removed from being a good-for-nothing n00b Colin has emerged from the training school that is the internet. The person that tried to post pictures by putting [img] tags around the website the picture was on; the person that read the readme.txt, and still didn’t get it; the person with a learning curve with the slightest incline; and the person who thought Tales put the watermarks on those pictures himself. That person somehow turned into me. Somewhere along the line I made a patch and a half, bitchslapped PHP code into doing what I wanted, became a ‘member’ of 4th-Quarter without releasing a patch, and I’ve opened up that Photoshop program a couple times.

I’m trying my hardest to leave my self-esteem intact, but I didn’t do it on my own. As many things as I’ve figured out on my own, the internet came a little slower to me. I certainly needed the help of everyone. So first of all a big shout-out to everyone. That means you. From the top of the list (that member named ‘Admin’ who barely posts), to that new guy that joined yesterday: thanks.

But what’s the fun without people looking at one of these posts and quoting their shoutout and saying “Thanks for the shout. Congrats [insert inside joke] ”

So here we go:

Ahmad – He probably won’t see this. But from his station in Miami he helped me learn the basics. So thank you Ahmad for dealing with a n00b Canadian and for the talks on MSN. He left a while ago and came back a few times, but it’s the effort that counts, right?

Andrew – You run the site, so that’s the big one. But more importantly you throw in Simpsons references everywhere. So, ‘the internet’, ‘monkeys’, and ‘sex’. Do your thing.

Jae – Extreme poster. You’re making jokes everywhere. I wish you still exploded at everyone and called them variations of ‘sheep fucker’, but you’re still good.

Cyanide – Canadian, so that’s nearly an auto-shoutout. You’re a helpful critique of design from a purely aesthetic view without anything technical, so the n00b’s (hopefully) understand too. And you brought another guy to the site…

Legend – I barely know you, but you’re funny. That’s good with me. After all, I wouldn’t keep logging on if I wasn’t entertained.

Jackal – Our resident-island boy. You’re a great poster, and an even better guy. Even though you ‘retired’ I’m glad you’re still around.

Matthew – You’re a great mod and I like hearing what you have to say in NBA Talk. I may not post in the NBA threads as much as I used to, but I read, and read, and read.

The GOAT – The one who started off as an 11-year-old bragging about his streetball moves, now he’s the most intelligent young guy I know. You’ve had a tough life Mike, and I’m glad to see you’ve taken what happened and used it to make yourself stronger. “Keep ya head up.” © 2Pac

Jowe – The cynical rap hater. Any burns should hereafter be referred to as ‘jowes’ or ‘joweing’ someone in your honour.

Nick – I think it’s a requirement to put the founders of JB right beside each other in shoutouts. Nick is my fellow OPF (Original Phoenix Fan.) Too bad he rarely (if ever) stops by anymore. I’ve had many a msn convo regarding the state of Phoenix.

Jona – Tied for the top spot in my big book of Chileans along with Drex. Awesome guy.

Yohance – Posts like a madman for a day or two, recedes back into the 0.5 posts per day for a while, then is back. He’s our original token black guy.

Skip – Skip you are the man. A fellow hip-hop connoisseur who hooks me up with all kinds of…stuff. And he gave me the link to the updated HHC.

Matt – Detroit sucks. And thanks for HHFX back in the day.

Cyriel – You’re NLSC’s Kirilenko. You do everything (NBA Talk, General Talk, patches, graphics, and you’re funny) and I guess you’re also European. So that might count for something.

Cameron – More Canada! W00t! Keep up the modding. And what’s with you and banjos?

Dahl – You make practice fun. One of the most helpful guys on the site, and I’m sure you’ve helped me countless times.

Mikki – Sure I average about a patch every 3 months, but you don’t seem to care. I’m working on one now. But quality>quantity, right? Then again, you seem to have quality and quantity working for you…

Remy – Virginia is in the house! I still remember being annoyed by scrolling past your 500 pixel tall sig of Kobe dunking. (Yes n00b’s we had no sig limits back in the day! )

D-Weaver – The married one. You’re a smart guy and I really respect that. I still think I won that debate about Media/Paparazzi in the NLSC Games or whatever.

Mafia – “Your Jordan’s are dirty.” *I Laugh as you freak out and check them* Keep on supporting Memphis. Warrick is a beast, I’ve turned him into an NBA Live monster…but on Portland.

Cable Guy – I tend to overlook it. But when I think about your name and see your avy I laugh. Keep repping Canada. *pumps chest*

Indy – Enjoy Butler man. If I ever want to know something about the Pacers I’m going straight to you.

EGarret – You are the best thread-starter in NBA Talk. You always seem to have these good ideas for threads on your mind, and I love it.

Ben – Thanks for running .org. After all, I found .org first. You probably are the best stat-man I know.

David – More thanks for running .org, you’re a great guy. Anytime I’ve talked to you it’s been good.

KevC – You’re like mini-Ben, but you like Yao more, and use less stats. Yours patches are wicked too.

nbalive774 – Unbelievably that is the better of your screen names. What the fuck is ‘chezzy’? Well, thanks for helping me give better sig critique. I now understand why there are peoples out there who wear neon green and purple clothes. Some people just can’t match colours.

Mazz – You seem like you’re everywhere on the internet. I don’t now what superpowers you use to do that. Maybe it’s the grape drink?

lpasso – Love the walls man. Rarely do I see someone who does better walls than sigs. As good as your sigs are your walls are top-notch. Keep it up.

air gordan – Another guy with great stuff to say in the NBA forums. Keep it coming.

fgrep – Yet another guy whose posts I love to read in NBA Talk. I don’t really know you, at all, but you seem like a great guy.

COOLMac – Once in a while you made a funny comment…Once in a while

If you’re not on the list look at the top of it. See where it says ‘everyone.’ That really does mean you. Even if I don’t know you very well, you’re probably a good contributor. And I’m not going to type out the top 100 posters with bs comments just for people’s self-esteem. I’ve got carpel-tunnel already.

I'm going to go ahead and use this as a 1096 post like Cameron did. I joined up in March 03, so instead I'll call this a 1056 (or so) days and 5000 posts thread. And BTW, I accept cash and cheque for any gifts.

Congrats Colin, let's be honest here. You're a terrific guy, sometimes your demeanor in Photoshop Lounge annoys me but that's something everyone has I suppose.
