1096 shoutout
No, not 1096 posts. As of Tuesday January 17th, I've officially been a member of the NLSC for 3 years. 1096 days. Yes I know this post is late so I didn't include the last 3 days in the count. I wanted to do a shoutout when I reached 1k posts but couldn't get around to it. And since it will probably be another 2-3 years before I hit 2000, I figured I go for a longevity thread. As you may or may not know I don't post very much so I'm not very good at this stuff, but I'll try my best. (BTW, as an attempt to get you to actually read this abomination, I've decided to forego my usual impossible to read orange text and stick with the basics broseph)
First a little history for those of you that don't know me:
I first joined the forum back with the black and blue. I had some questions about Live 2000 (how to give Vince his fadeaway because I could never get him to make it.) I stayed away for a long time after that as I was still new to the internet n' stuff. For Christmas 2002 we got an upgraded computer because ours was just getting too old. I realized at that point that I would be able to run the newest nba live, and by that point it was around 20$. I really wanted to because I was jealous of my ps2 friend who had 2002. Suffice to say, I found 2003 an improvement over 2000 at that time (realism wasn't really my thing.) I asked a few questions at the new forum, then realized that my new hobby of computer programming could apply to nba live! I asked if anyone would be interested in a "jersey installer" to add custom jerseys to the game. I got a lot of support and the jersey installer became very popular. I was proud.
I started a site called nba live junk, had a few members, eventually it faded away. I bought 2004 at full price. I tried a couple programs for it too. Eventually, Andrew asked me to join the NLSC team as a programmer. I was so bloody excited... it had been my dream to just get a patch or something on the site, let alone be a part of it. I even got to be a mod... I literally printed out the moderator rules from the site and read them over and over.
Then there was the whole "Jedi Council" thing where I met Jae, Jackal, and all these guys... that was a seriously hilarious endeavour. To think Andrew might be leaving! Posh! Not to mention phone calls, bashings, ... inside stuff boys.
Eventually I became friends with Jackal (possible? yes! difficult? maybe

) I guess we kind of complement each other with our thinking and posting methods... you know what I mean I assume because I have no reason to explain it. We started up JCLIVE which was awesome until our host went gay (oh that reminds me, remember the Gay conversation Jae? ahahaha) and we tried to start from scratch with Andrew's gracious help but it just never worked out, sadly.
To make a long story short, I've never left. I've had hiatuses though, lots, mostly due to an increase in schooling and other interests and stuff. And I'm just not the biggest poster. Like I'm definitely huge, don't get me wrong. What I meant to say is I don't post a lot. But I'll often be reading when practicing banjo and junk.
Anyways, since I don't know a lot of you very well, don't feel left out if I left you out. Lord knows I've been left out of enough of these shoutouts even though I'm the frickin MAN.
Andrew: Obviously the number one shoutout. Bends over backwards for this site, and for me. Holy crap, that sounded incredibly gay. What I meant was, he invited me to be a member, let me be a mod, and has kept me as a member even though I have no time to program anymore and really can't contribute to the site in that way. He supported us on JCLIVE even though it was sort of a rival site. Basically he's my hero. Especially when he throws out his occasional hilarious posts (the ones where he forgets to Androogle.)
Jae: Pretty much got me into the General Talk section after inviting me to the council. Have had some very interesting conversations. Was all for it when he became a mod because I knew he would shut everyone up who was acting gay.
Jackal: Surprised me when he turned out not to be as scary as he posts. One of the best guys I've ever talked to on msn and I was sure glad to have been able to form a site with him. We agree on most topics and I actually think I'm better to have met him. Despite his Michael Jordan-esque style of retiring from NLSC, I still think he's one of the best posters on here.
Yohance: Been talking to him for a long time. Nothing like being a 15 year old white kid from rural Canada learning about a guy nicknamed "Thug" from The Bronx's sexual promiscuity. Honestly man, talking to you is frickin amazing. I learned a lot of stuff I wouldn't repeat in front of my parents. Glad to see you back at posting again, you're one of the best mods ever.
Jona: Met him when I realized he was a fellow Rush fan. If you don't know who Rush is... well, I'm tired of hearing people who don't know who Rush is. He also shares a love of music and is always supportive of my banjo playing. A great guy to talk to and generally (Gene Rally?) awesome.
Cyanide: PM'd him when I realized he's Canadian. We realized just how wicked-bones sweet it is that we're both from Canada. He always complements me on being an amazing poster even though I don't post much. A great guy to talk to and can always cheer you up. Now, repaying the favour: he's definitely one of the best and most consistent posters at NLSC.
Tales: Too bad about him blowing up and leaving. I got caught in the middle of his fight with, like, everyone. I wish he was still on msn though because he was a Rush and Neil Young fan and usually a really cool guy. Sent me pictures of hot chicks all the time, even though they were watermarked I didn't really care, that much.
Jowe: For being absolutely hilarious pretty much all of the time. Although he makes fun of me that Planet of the Apes thing was unbelievable. Used to download his insane jerseys back with the Barnsey site. Thanks for the beta invite and sorry about the double big mac.
Nick: Thinking about Jowe's jerseys, how could I forget to include Barnsey??? That would have been blasphemy. He's another hilarious Australian fellow around my age. We made the simply amazing FCP (fictional cyberface package) which was probably too good to exist and I actually dreamed it. Seriously that thing just worked so damn well. Wish Nick would come back and post some more too, and I'm not talking just about drunkenly. Although that was great that time.
Kobe4MVP: Another poster I liked to talk to who doesn't post much anymore. He was exactly 3 days older than me. Another NBA Live junk guy, good poster and sweet dunker.
Mitch: Great, great patcher. Doesn't post anymore (do I smell bad or something? Seriously...) but I had some great talks with him on msn about nba live and general stuff. Cool guy.
FTW: A seriously hilarious and amazingly long winded but intelligent fellow. His posts always made me laugh and he was very supportive of NBA Live Junk and the jersey installer. Wish he would keep posting.
Metaphysical: Initially supported the Jersey Installer and gave me confidence.
Indy: For that tiny silly flame war we had. Good luck becoming a Butler, or whatever. (Just kidding man you're awesome).
Null17: A great poster who doesn't want me to tell people his real name. Although it's in a post, somewhere. Search for it, its not such a bad name.
Colin: A fellow Canadian, who is excellent at photoshop. I always thought he had a lot of opinions about beer though for a 15 year old. Still awesome fella
Repole: Another guy who's gone from the posting scene. I actually had some sweet convos with him despite his young age. Too bad he's gone.
The GOAT: I like to make fun of him for being so young. But seriously he posts damn well for a guy his age (at that age I was learning how to "dial up". Wish he would post more again.
Joe Bruno: I can't remember his NLSC name for some reason, but he was that european fellow who got banned for harassing Jae's girlfriend. Aside from that I actually thought he was a sweet guy and he gave me some good computer information on MSN.
Lankyman: I modded the shit out of you. Sucka
Tis all for now. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I kind of saved up a post reservoir and let a lot of out in this post so I hope you enjoyed it. I'm sure I've missed someone but I'm super tired. If I missed anyone I'll try and edit them in if I think of them. Don't feel bad if you were left out because I'm having trouble remembering things tonight.
Anyways, enough of my ramblings. Thanks everyone for 3 great years and let's all hope for many more
