George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh have been drafted into the NBA. According to Daily Variety, the pair's Section Eight production label has teamed up with NBA Entertainment and Maloof Television to produce an unscripted comedy series set in the world of hoops, which HBO is negotiating to pick up.
The new series will focus on the adventures of creating an expansion team in the NBA and will be told through the eyes of the team's coach, a veteran player, a up-and-coming rookie and a cheerleader. The episodes will follow the team and the key players as they struggle to find their place in the league. The untitled series will combine a mix of reality and fiction.
Although no deals are in place, former Dallas Mavericks coach Don Nelson is said to be negotiating to take the role of the coach, with former L.A. Lakers center Vlade Divac in talks to take on the role of the seasoned vet. Variety reports that the producers will have unprecedented access to the NBA during filming.
Sounds good.

Especially with reallife NBA Players/Coaches featured in it... but man... Vlade Dade?

Sounds interesting to say the least. I bet it'll be a little biased to the Kings since the Maloofs are in charge

That's exactly what I was thinking, his acting skills are Oscar worthy.
Anyways, sounds interesting, George Clooney will probably put himself in the show aswell.

Bad movie, but an interesting idea if you were making a porn movie with Dennis Rodman in it.

Space Jam is the greatest basketball movie ever. Period.

Fuck Hoosiers? Coch Carter?
I can't wait for Glory Road to arrive, though. I hope it's a realistic movie. If anyone starts doing windmills, I'm going to shoot someone.

I always wished for some live action series like Slam Dunk (it's an anime, for those who don't know), but the characters sort of bother me. Oh well. Good luck to those people.

"Iwan make basket" will be Vlade's line, hopefully.
I can just see the Maloofs recreating Game 7 vs Lakers.

His wedding was attended by over 1000 people and broadcast live throughout Yugoslavia.
That's strange. I wonder if they had commentators.
"The vows are finally over...they approach each either...the kiss!

"Vlade does a flop on national tv... oh no... the wedding cake is gone!"
