Johnny Damon Signs With Yankees

Postby Jing on Thu Dec 22, 2005 11:45 am

We were just at the campus center watching tv and flipping the channel to simpsons when my friend went to a news channel, and they just announced Damon going to the yankees and he just froze and was in that same position for like a couple minutes without moving. and like on every channel that as news it was about the red sox, their fans saying fuck damon, and yankees fans doing backflips and cheering or something... needless to say we missed the simpsons...

what do you guys think?

great deal for yankees and time for sox to let damon go anyways?

Good move by the Yankees. They have been having issues in center field the past couple seasons as Bernie Williams cannot be considered a everyday player. Now Damon can step in and help out on defense (alot) and also take a little pressure off Derek as a run-scorer. Excellent move and I am lookingforward to see what else the Yankees are going to do this off-season.

I think Derek will be excellent hitting 2nd as I think he is better suited for it and it takes some of the pressure off him. I dont mind Damon leading off at all and I justcant wait to see that offense on action.

All I can say is

Great for the Yankees, as has been said a Damon-Jeter 1-2 punch is awesome, Damon will be a great help defensevly too I know I spelled that wrong cy .

Sucks for the Sox though, and my Blue Jays, once again NY gets stronger :x

Hopefully your Jays can get something out of A.J. Burnett.

Yeah, that'd be nice. For once a Toronto team went out and spent some money, now let's see if it works.

He's great on offense, a good fielder, speedy , but he has a poor throwing arm... CFs should have stronger arms than his... He's not a defensive liability, but still...

He has the bat but not the defense. As I said in my mvpmods.com post regarding this I thought it would be hilarious what the reaction would be once he homers at Fenway as a Yankee. It would probably be scattered boos and cheers ... looking forward to the fan reaction. (Y)
