Am I The Only One Getting IMs Like This A LOT?

Tue Dec 06, 2005 5:57 am

it says
This AIM user has sent you a Greetings Card, to open it visit: http://greetings.aol.com/index.pd?source=christmastheme?my_christmas_card.COM
This senders personal note: Merry Christmas!

and when I click the link it sends to a .scr file download.

I havent downlaoded it yet because Im getting LOTS of these IMs and my friend at school said its a bot and its a virus.

And the wierd thing is, Im getting these from people ON my buddy list and not some IM that i dont know who it is.

Well, let's see, it says .COM as the extension; chances are it's a virus. You should get rid of that link, Mazz, before other people click on it.

Anytime there is a link in AIM from your friend, always double check to see if they postin the link or is it a automatic bot.
These bots are like viruses.. they been spreading like hell on aim.
To get rid of it simply go here to get rid of it http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm Download and run it and it should clean it

yeah anything out of the ordinary from your friend is probably a virus. it's most likely that they aren't even aware that they're sending you this stuff

Those type of viruses were popular on MSN earlier this year, those were sooo annoying because everyone would send me that message and go sorry it's a virus and i'll answer well aren't you a retard for downloading a virus.

I refuse to click any link on AIM unless I see the words Kevin Garnett or President Bush Owns in it.

I'm guessing you've never clicked a link on AIM.
