I'm getting mine on Tuesday as well. The $400 one with two games (Live, Madden), an extra controller and a battery pack. I'll be one happy man this Thanksgiving break.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 10:00 am

what's the battery pack for ???

I'm waiting on the ps3 , but I'm getting a job soon , so If i have enough money i'll get 360 soon.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 10:09 am

Battery pack charges the wireless remotes.

I believe it is $20. It will be cheaper than buying batteries over and over again in the long run.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 10:51 am

hm..
deciding between ipod, xbox 360, waiting for ps3, psp, or car.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:23 am

Somebody told me that it'll be sold out for the first week unless you pre-ordered it... but that's probably subject to location.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:38 am

It comes out here around the 2nd of December I thinks.

I think I'll probably wait till 2006 before I get it. I will however, get it.

First, I want the Logitech Z 5500.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 1:11 pm

I'm probably going to get a PS3, not really been all that impressed with the 360 to be honest. It seems rushed.

Rushed? They've only been working on it for 2 or more years.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 2:46 pm

A friend told me yesterday that he read an article that the 360 was rushed. I don't know what was rushed, but I'd be concerned about the PS3 too since PS2 didn't do well in the long term.

To be honest, I would've expected them to take more time then that.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 2:57 pm

More time? This is Microsoft we're talking about. They get billions of dollars a freaking month. They have the money and resources to get the job done in less than 2 years. They have worked on the 360 ever since Xbox came out.

And the thing is, Xbox 360 might be rushed but "statistically" speaking it is better than (or atleast equal to) the PS3.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 3:10 pm

I pre-ordered mine.. but I'm thinking of going with the wired controllers... I dont feel like chargin them up all the time..

Sorry I can't take you seriously knowing that you've already pre-ordered/paid for one of these things. Normally I'd want to debate it but you seem overly biased.

Some food for thought, EA also has the money and resources to put out a good basketball game in under 1 year, have they done it since 2000?

Thu Nov 17, 2005 7:21 pm

Thier going for close to 1,000 on ebay right now...

I plan on going to wal mart at 12am on the 22nd. Well I need to call first see how they are going to do it. Im sure people will be there hours before they are sold. I mean is there going to be a line for first come first serve or what???

As for it being rushed theres not much to an xbox motheboard, hd, and cdrom. I really dont think Bill Gates money hungry self would let billions of them be sold as leamons.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 7:48 pm

I don't think Bill Gates would be too concerned, Xbox sales are a hugely minute part of his income. I don't think it'll be a bad machine at all, I just don't think it'll be as good as it could've been. I've watched alot of game video's for the 360 and none of them have impressed me... which could also be partly the game developers fault.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:40 pm

I actually read some article about Microsoft actually losing money on each X-Box that was sold in the recent years.

I'll get the X-Box 2, if it doesn't satisfy, I'll sell it on E-bay orso & save up for the PS3.

I'll try and find the article.

There you go.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:41 pm

Ah I read that also... I think Bang posted it in one of his pro-Nintendo rants.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:43 pm

Oh, oops. I'm don't usually read those guys rambling off on the consoles or which b-ball game is better. It comes down to which you prefer, so pardon me for not seeing that article when he posted it.

Thu Nov 17, 2005 11:53 pm

Nah you wouldn't have seen it. It was buried in the Live 05 section in some random thread that had nothing to do with Gamecubes.

No games are made yet with xbox 360's full GFX. The video rendering part of xbox is only 450 mhz but that isn't all you can judge it by. The ATI x800 Ultra has 16 pipelines for data. If I read right the 360 has 42 pipelines. Plus the console its self is optomised for games.

Just think back on how good xbox looked at its time of release. Also a computer with 700mhz 64ram and a gf2 aren't even going to play some of the games it has out at the moment. The ones a pc w/ xbox stats can play will not give you the quality picture with the ammount of frames produced with xbox.

So I think that its going to run games like a PC with probably 2 generations or more after current ati machines. Or like having a dual-SLI system if they made such thing. One major factor is not having to run windows under games. What is it 3 x 3.5 ghz? It will probably seem more like a 3 x 5ghz machine.

Yeah xbox is small compared to the sales of windows license. Only thing is he will never be able to have enough money in his mind and the more he has the more he worries about it. I myself would just sell it all off. I could live off of 1 million dollars my whole life. You take it to a bank and within a year it draws 100 Grand interest. Thats almost twice as much as I make in a year. He could draw 1,500 million "1.5 billion" in intrest a year

If anyone knows what wal mart is doing for crowd control and sales give me a holla!

I've often thought that too... I mean the guy's worth 70+ billion or something ridiculous like that. Is it really worth all of the work and court cases running Microsoft? I don't know why he doesn't sell it, his great great grandchildren would still be millionaires from it.

Fri Nov 18, 2005 1:20 am

It's his "baby", I think it's quite difficult to just give it up. If I loved something so much, I would be willing to face the hassles.

Fri Nov 18, 2005 1:26 am

I watched a movie about his life, according to that he stole most of his big earners from when he worked with Apple  the Windows concept and also the mouse apparentely. Smart theft.

Most people that are really rich either get inspired by some other source & act on it, or for those Arab rich folks, they just inherit daddy's oil.
