Okla. High School Hoops Team Loses 112-2

Saturday, November 5, 2005

(11-05) 15:21 PST Earlsboro, Okla. (AP) --

The Hanna High School basketball team can take some consolation: It didn't get shut out.

It did, however, lose 112-2 on Friday night to Earlsboro.

"It was embarrassing to watch," Earlsboro coach Jim Walling told The Oklahoman. "But you can't just tell your kids not to score. I've been coaching 27 years and have never been involved in something like this."

The Wildcats led 42-0 after one quarter and 73-2 at halftime. Walling pulled his starters in the second half, and game officials kept a running clock, stopping it only for free throws.

Each player on Earlsboro's 10-man boys' roster scored. Seven players finished in double figures.

LMAO! That's the funniest, most embarrasing thing

We (my under 16's team a few years back) beat a rep team 177-11 They scored like 2 points in the entire second half. I think there's probably a fair few people around who's had bigger wins than 112-2.

3 years ago we beat a team 200+ something to 40. I believe 5 players scored more then 30 points.

You sure they weren't playing a wheelchair basketball team?

Well I didn't see any excessive bragging about him dunking on people, so it is possible they were disabled.

Impossible...i'm not gonna beleive u cuz, even if an nba team played some sucky high school team, they wouldn't score +200 points.

We once losed pretty badly, i think it was our first game f the season, without any strategy or practices, we lost 72-25 :(

I coached an under 14's team once in a weekend tournament. We went 6-0 and won the entire thing, but it only took like 2 games before they were bitching about court time

Why wouldnt they? Im pretty sure a NBA team can score more then 250 points against a sorry team. And the team I played against was VERY sorry.

We played a tournament in grade 8 where we demolished this other team. It was two 25 minute halves, running time. They didn't score until 16 left in the second, and that was just one free-throw. We were running down the shot clock every play after 10 minutes working on running our offence. The coach was yelling out things like "No! You're supposed to set the screen and fade baseline." basically giving the plays away. And they still worked. Final score was something like 65-8.

Our team lost to a junior team once :shake: The coach was joking around and telling us not to beat them too hard before the game started. Little did we know those guys have been playing together for years. Even though they were all shorter than us, they still beat us by a few points. The coach cried after the game, he was literally sobbing.
