let me just start by saying i love basketball, i love the NBA. but i have never play any of the virtual games, i never thought it could give me everything NBA has. but all my friends has either live or 2k, so i say why not, since its the offseason, so i rented both. live first then 2k. and i was right neither can give the real NBA. But 2k6 came really really close. live 06 didn't even measured up. 2k was so real in terms of gameplay. live has some cprappy asss gameplay. 2k's shot stick is lot better than superstar controls, cause it apply to everyone not just the stars. dual player, rip and strip, the vip, yes SIGNATURE MOVES(a killer). bascially for the users 2k given us more control, they AI is alot smarter, your teammates AI plays alot smarter, animations are really good.

ok thanks for your opinion on both games . Trust that most nba videogamers play both games and will formulate their opinion just as you have. I personally have played 2k6...and the gameplay is boring to me compared to live.
