"George Bush doesnt care about black people."
Oh. Shit.

Damn, I Like Kanye Too

Rappers should be banned from having opinions.

I actually found the look on Mike Myers face hilarious , but its a serious matter so I dont try and think of it that way . Surprised Kanye would say that.

Chris Tucker-

Playing the race card is simply idiotic. You can tell the nation is dividing right in front of our eyes. After 9/11 we were all united and after this we are agruing about who's fault it is. Who the fuck cares?
Sat Sep 03, 2005 5:39 pm
Kanye is an idiot. His right to talk should be removed.
Sat Sep 03, 2005 5:54 pm
I'm sorry but I agree with Kanye for the most part. Bush should be shifting focus to the US. Why is he sending all the poor to Iraq? Why is more money invested in Iraq instead of relief for Hurricane Katrina?
Also, everyone has the right of speech. Isn't that what the US is about? All he is doing is criticizing the president. If you can't criticize the leader why is the US a democratic nation?
Racism has always been a part of the US. The US has always been divided. There are too many laws and policies to consider racism extinct in the US.
You don't think the media portrays the African Americans in a bad light? How is it that all police reports often start with suspect is likely an African American even when sometimes nothing has even started? There's been such a long history of portraying African Americans as criminals and it still goes on today. What's so wrong about pointing that out? It's not like he's saying not to give aid!

In fact, let's ban all artists/actors from getting involved in politics. Didn't you just hate that self-righteousness of Sean Penn during Iraq? I dislike he war aswell, but disguising yourself as important to world peace just because you did 21 Grams? Fuck him.
And fuck that moron Bono too! I hate U2, but all that hate stems from Bono trying to be the utilitarist of the world, because he and his crew of gay men used the same beat for 2 decades and people are too dumb to see it. Blah.
Sat Sep 03, 2005 8:51 pm
I agree. They abuse their position of celebrity/power by airing their (often) misinformed opinions to the World for everyone to hear. Lets face it, being famous doesn't make you any smarter... you wouldn't want COOLmac broadcasting his thoughts to millions of people World wide, so why would you want this Kanye clown doing the same just because he's made a few songs that people like?
Maybe only the top selling recording artists should be allowed to publically air their opinions... last time I checked that was The Beatles and Elvis, so if that rule was implimented we wouldn't have to put up with any of their shit to begin with. Apart from Paul McCartney, but people stopped caring when Lennon died anyways.

you my friend, have just spoken the truest words
Oh, and Kanye should stop trying to be like 2Pac...matter of fact everyone should. Kanye just sounds....uneducated when he speaks and can't make a speech like Pac did.

kanye has no clue what hes talking about. if bush didnt care about blacks then he wouldnt give no legall action to the remaining kkk.and also who do you think lives in new orleans? not whites. there all in kentucky. bush is trying his best to make this country the safest and most equal.kanye has no right to say bush dosnt like him or his race when he makes millions and sits on his ass for a living.(im just saying that becauses rap is not music no vocals nor instruments.just rambling on a computerized beat.)
if kanye dosnt like the way bush does it then he can move his happy ass somewhere else.maybe a 3rd world country where he can complain that blacks arent treated right because hes homeless.if i where kanye i wouldnt even have the nerve to complain.

This has nothing to do with the rapper part of Kanye, this is just Kanye talking as a human not as a rapper. So comments like Jae's, Granados' or Matt's (Pac was a fool anyway) make no sense.
He's just expressing his opinion on the matter, an opinion which you don't share with him though (and me neither). It's just the fact that he's famous and he's expressing his opinion on national television.
Sun Sep 04, 2005 1:00 am
They do make sense. He is a rapper and made a comment during a concert that he was involved in purely because he is a rapper.

haha, yeah right. Like the KKK is a threat, there REAL number is down to barely over 1000. It's not like they target Blacks only...they target NON PROTESTANT WHITES....that means me and probably you.
please get off bush's nuts.

free speech. You know that a large chunk of America doesnt like bush. Perhaps they should go live elsewhere too huh? That would the rest of the country a shithole.

I actually thought it was funny because of Mike Myers and Chris Tucker then Kanye looked like he was drunk anyway. The way the comment just went out there was the funniest part. Saying that rappers don't deserve opinions don't make sense because those rappers are also giving money to charity as well. If those rappers weren't doing that then just think of the people that wouldn't get the food and supplies they need to survive.
Sun Sep 04, 2005 4:35 am
They don't need an outspoken opinion to give money to charity.

He didn't make that comment because he is a rapper. You just got to hear it because he is one. It has nothing to do with him being a rapper.
ps. Null17, this is not a flame...
Sun Sep 04, 2005 5:01 am
I didn't say he made the comment because he's a rapper. I said he made a comment during a concert that he was only involved in because he's a rapper. He abused his position as a celebrity to air his opinions on a very public stage.

^True, but if you had the power to spread what you thought was the truth to people that did not, you would most likely too.. I mean I guess he's under the distinct impression that his 'opinion' is the correct one, so it's not completely wrong of him to try to spread the truth (be it the actual truth or not); people have been doing this since forever, it's a part of our nature. I see your point though, and partially agree with it.
As for his statement, I don't really know what to think..
Sun Sep 04, 2005 5:35 am
It's funny how all the white people think it's bullshit and the black people think it's true.

I can't honestly comprehend how anyone with some partial sanity would think it's a good idea to globally announce that the President of the United States doesn't care about black people.
Sun Sep 04, 2005 6:04 am
It's still his opinion.
Sun Sep 04, 2005 6:11 am
And since he is a hip-hop god all the young studs will follow him because it's "cool" to hate on Bush. Look out for Peter Griffin.

By the way Riot, did you know that the Red Cross only gives .40 cents on the dollar to the victims, the other .60 is overhead.
