Gooden Wanted By Police
NEW YORK -- Gary Sheffield was in an all-too-familiar position Tuesday night: worrying about his uncle, Dwight Gooden.
"I'm always worried about him," Sheffield said, reacting to the news Tampa, Fla., police had issued a felony warrant and were searching for Gooden. "I've been there supporting him for 17 years."

Gooden, 40, who pitched for the Mets and Yankees and most recently was an instructor at the Yankees' minor league complex, fled from police Monday after he was stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Gooden has been free on bond and awaiting trial stemming from a domestic battery charge filed against him in March. The Yankees said he resigned in April, though they made no announcement at that time.
