Greek Airline Crash Kills 121

When was the last time DWeaver has been on this site? :!:

Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:02 pm

I think Weaver is in Hawaii unti Tuesday....there is probably a remote chance he's on it, but I think he gets back tomorrow....

Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:16 pm

That sucks, hopefully he wasn't in the plane :?

Tue Aug 16, 2005 3:44 pm

dont think that plane is heading to the hawaiian islands though....man o man noone survives....why is it so hard to give passengers some parachutes  nah j/k

Tue Aug 16, 2005 3:47 pm

I say nothing.

Tue Aug 16, 2005 4:40 pm

Dweaver didn't die in a plane crash.

I killed him with a hammer.

Of course, I'm just kidding. But wouldn't that be fun to kill someone with a hammer?

Tue Aug 16, 2005 4:52 pm

I think it would be fun to do that with a hammer...

I heard on the radio that some people might have been unconscious instead of dead, it was something about unconscious and the Greek Airplane Crash :?

Tue Aug 16, 2005 4:54 pm

Dweaver is so smart he'd know the plane would crash before it actually did and jump out of a secret compartment with a parachute.

Kiddin bro lol..

And on the way down he lost an arguement with a seagull.

Riot, thanks, you did the NLSC a great service. Loyalty like that has to be rewarded :proud:. Now change your avatar, it looks like something shane would post :shake:

Friday, I believe. But he's back now...

Nope... I flew with a different airline... although I had flown to Cyprus with a 'Helios' airplane once... :o

Dweaver didn't die in a plane crash.

I killed him with a hammer.

That must have been one heck of a special hammer, Riot...

You said it, not me... j/k   ... Nah, maybe I could talk the autopilot into landing the plane on its own...

And on the way down he lost an arguement with a seagull.

Who farted???

Oh, now I see...

Now, about the plane crash... I just arrived back in Greece this afternoon and only got my info on the web up until a few hours ago... Things are very sketchy still regarding the cause of the tragedy and rumors have been flying around like crazy...

At first it was believed that it was caused due to rapid/explosive hull decompression, likely caused by a ructure in the craft's hull, causing atmospheric conditions outside and inside the plane to be equated, which actually means that the passengers were subject to -50 degrees Celcius temperatures and a minimal oxygen supply for enough time to kill them...

Then it was implied that the hull's airconditioning was damaged and that it got so cold in teh craft that everybody eventually turned bluie and died.... But that does not explain why the pilots were unable to pull an emergency altitude drop in order to reverse the conditions...

Sometime during flight and after contact between the plane and the control tower was severed, two military F-16 took off and proceeded to intercept the 737's course... The fighter pilots saw the co-pilot lying flat on his face and the pilot nowhere to be seen in th ecockpit, probably lying on the ground. A third person not in uniform was spotted in the cockpit trying to regain control of the plane. Terrorism has pretty much been eradicated as a possibility and the 'third person' was quite possibly a male flight attendant who had taken flying lessons and had an amateur pilot's licence.

The coroners examined the bodies yesterday and actually discovered that the actual cause of death for the poor passengers was severe trauma due to impaact rather than aspyxiation or poisoning due to degraded hull conditions... So the passengers died because of teh crash, and were alive beforhand. But that still does not explain why th epilots were out cold or dead while teh passengers were still alive and breathing... or why th ep[lane lost ALL radio contact witrh the control tower ...

I'm guessing it will take more than a week for things to become clear, if they do so at all... One of the black boxes (it's actually orange in color) has been taken to Paris for information decryption, the toxicology report on the bodies is still pending, and we pretty much are at a loss as to what actually transpired in the 'Helios' flight to Prague... :?

don't they have parachutes under the seats :?:

Man that sucks for the passengers having to die of severe trauma instead of aspyxiation :( I'd really like to know why the pilots were knocked out while everyone else was presumably alive.

Nope... Cost reasons, added weight reasons, possible panic reasons... imagine who would go first, second, etc... not to mention that thee is probably no time to get 120+ people off a falling plane on time...

lol I think you're thinking of fighter jets man.

Hmmm... actually, an impact at such speed would cause for an instant and non-painful death... death by asphyxiation is more tragic as it gives you more time to realise your demise... :|
