islam and muslims

Thu Aug 11, 2005 1:43 am

i was just thinking, i cant help but feel sorry for muslims, they are always stereotyped as terrorists just because of 9-11,what are your thoughts

Thu Aug 11, 2005 2:08 am

agreed. even those who look remotely arab get treated differently. geez

Thu Aug 11, 2005 2:18 am

but they do have a fucked up religion, so i dont care. I'm gonna continue to stereotype their asses, im done with that whole tolerance BS.

Thu Aug 11, 2005 2:30 am

people do have a fucked up picture of their religion. and yeah i think its weird that theres almost more attention payed to the religion than to the fucked up person who did that terrorsit shit. a lot of prejudices arose from that shit.

the religion's probably not the one fucked up. it's those extremists that give them a bad name. like how people who like rap getting shit because of a bunch of gangbangers and crappy rappers who only rap about chicks and money

Thu Aug 11, 2005 3:13 am

I think they're a victim of global ignorance mixed with their own people betraying them. I mean if all of these terrorists came out and said "We blow people up because we like to, that's all" the amount of hate towards Muslims would be alot less then it is. Instead they come out and say "Oh Allah came to me and screwed me up the ass, then he said "Yo Habib, blow some shit up son" so I did. Death in the name of Islam!" and suddenly everyone Arabic is a terrorist.

I dont know why that seems so funny to me  . Anyway yea muslims are stereotyped, its not the religon its only Bin Laden and others which give it a bad name.

Every religion is fucked up in some sort of way; it all matters about what angle you look at them from. I'm not turned off by Islam because of Osama bin Laden and his crew of extremists, just like I'm not going to disban myself from Christianity because of the KKK or idiots who go out of there way to protest gay marriage.

There's an aspect to every religion that some people choose to look at it from, resulting in terrible events with the respective relgion being used as an excuse.

"Oh the hypocrisy!"

"Oh the hypocrisy!"

:? Why don't all of you take your issues with me to one specific thread and not ruin every flowing conversation? Just soem food for thought, guys...

I believe that thread is labeled "Great mods we're having here". But you didn't exactly keep the positive discussion "flowing" when you basically insulted Matt's point of view.

Thu Aug 11, 2005 5:57 am

Anyways ladies, getting back to topic...

I struggle to see their point of views at times. That being said, I do admire them for being able to hold on to their religion as tightly as they have, you don't see that happening a lot these days.

To judge someone based on their religion is crap, it's the person's personality you ought to judge to know whether that's a good human being, or a not so good one.

Once upon a time I didn't like muslims either, but now I have muslim friends & I realised judging a bunch of folks just because they share the same belief is absurd.

Oh, one thing I can't tolerate is when anyone of any religion tries to convert me, don't do that & I'll be just dandy with you.

Our religion is not about being terriorists and killing everyone  ...its just some of the arabs are idiots(the terrorists) and forget about the religion and make up their own religion and all of you think that is our religion

Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:18 am

Muslims are like a spark which easly can be turend in to a fire. USA helped a lot in that part of the job. Now they have what they wanted, war. Islam is on the other hand, is abused by muslims. Abused a lot. I feel sorry for them when I see dead children rambled on Iraq streets.

Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:20 am

What the fuck are you on about? How is the US responsible for this "war" you talk about. There is a war against terrorism that was ignited by the 9/11 attacks. Had they not attacked, there would have been no reason for the war against terrorism, no?

The U.S. didn't want a war, the extreme group of Muslims wanted a war.

Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:22 am

no the attack of 9/11 was because of USA invading palestine and pakistan

Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:26 am

Oh shove yourself.

Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:27 am

Ah fuck not this thread again... :?

Now wisdom kid is gonna say something stupid as usual and make muslims look braindead.. and people will fight with one another.. wait on second thought I think this thread was a great idea !! (Y)

I got so much shit I wanna say about this topic but I'm sure its already been said in the past religion threads.

Really? That's shocking to me considering how the US has been bombing the middle east since Clinton took office, and before.

The motives of the 9/11 attacks and the motives of the extremist groups are to end United States involvment in the Middle East. What sense does that motive make if the US wasn't already involved in a war in the Middle East? Don't give me that bullshit that they attacked because they hate Americans. They hate Americans because of US actions in the Middle East. Not because they are jelous.

Thu Aug 11, 2005 7:07 am

Perhaps it is the reason after all, I won't dispute it given I'm not aware of the full facts as it seems.

I won't say that the response they gave to the involvement of US in the middle east was anywhere near alright. The way it came out by both Sac1 & Lpasso was as if they were saying, oh 9/11 is US's own fault.

If you feel you've been done wrong, fight a war, don't kill folks who didn't have shit to do with it. No matter what you say, 9/11 was disgusting & to turn around and say US was responsible for it is a load of shit.

Absolutly. Its wrong for the United States to drag people out of their homes and murder them, its wrong for the US to fly planes over towns and destroy them. Its wrong for the Taliban to bomb to World Trade Centers.

Where are you getting all this from?

Thu Aug 11, 2005 7:18 am

Yea, 9/11 was disgusting, but wan't even more disgusting all those Bush Jr., Bush Sr. and Clinton wars they started? How many people died there?

Good thing that's clear. Let's keep it in that thread from now on shall, we? And I do trust Matt to defend his own opinions like you and I can.

Back on topic, the true cause of a war is never crystal clear. On ething history has taught us, is that there is ALWAYS financial reasons involved. Financial may translate to 'I want more oil', 'I want more resources', 'I want to defend my resources', 'I want my country's financial colossuses to rebuild the country we bomb the hell out of' and on and on and on... Religion and racila differences have been extinct as sole reasons for war ever since Hitler bit the dust.
