What do you need to do to get better?
Play more basketball. There's no magic secret or magic drill you can do to make yourself better, just practice.
Period.

first practice the basics. driblling, passing then shooting. after that do the games with a couple of your friends to earn some physicality aspects. played with your seniors. then play with the dirtiest guys in your hood
those are the stages if you want to go amateur
if not you could go and try out for varsity teams and get coached

Ok, since you're new to basketball, rule number one: Forget Kobe. He's a bad, bad influence. Btw, are you sure you're white? You look Asian. And is that ShbzMafia you're playing against?
That being said, you gotta work on your dribbling, so practice dribbling with a tennis ball, it'll improve your skills fast. Work on your jumping, do some plyometrics and sprints. Your shot looks like a stroke with two hands, so try practicing shooting your release with one hand only and flick your wrist at the release - causing the ball to spin backwards (the faster the spin, the better). Study NBA sharp shooters with sweet strokes, like Allan Houston, Glen Rice, etc. then study your shots and see if they match up. You're young, so your strength might be low, hence your tendency to shoot with two hands.. so build up some muscle then you'll find better range as your shooting develops. Good luck

But about you game Kobe101,
-Like Cyande pointed out the two hand lunge is not a jumpshot, my 9 year olds shoot like that and maybe just as good.
-You look frail so i guess you should get stronger go to the gym and lift.
-When your in front of your man dont reach and try to get the steal or someone with good handles is gonna cross your ass up.
-Another thing on defense the flailing arms, thats a big no-no. It makes you look real bad.
-Lastly if your gonna try to stop a layup like you tried, and i emphasize try, go up and do it like a man, pack the shit out of that ball dont use your spirit fingers in front of the other guys face.
And maybe just maybe if you get good enough you might be in the NBA screwing white girls in Colorado just like your idol. j/k.

Actually disregard all that was said prior to my post. All you need to become a good basketball player is a pair of Reebok Pumps.

I remember when i was 13....after 2 year break from practicing...i went to my 1st practice...after 2months i was in the team, but how i sucked then... 1st game...my first 2 min. i make shot, got fouled....now i`m stading on the free trow line....1st shot didn`t even hit the net...2nd shot, hardly hit the rim...
the same tournament, but only the finals....my 1st min. .... and i had 5 travells

It's not feesible though, most specialists advise folks to start lifting once they are around 16-18. Then again, most people think specialists are cunts so lift away.

Actually, 13 is a safe age to start lifting weights. Lol, man, he's 13 and he's playing basketball for the first time in his life. Might as well encourage him to get better and keep practicing rather than diss him at how much he sucks... otherwise you'll have to go through me
