Basketball question

Postby msilver1 on Fri May 20, 2005 2:53 am

I have read a couple of threads here regarding conditioning and bulking up, but I wanted to know if anyone knew a way to increase quickness.

Thx in advance.

Exercise your legs. One exercise I know is where you stand flat on the floor, and then you go up to the tips of your toes, then go back down. Do about 40, gradually increasing the amount as you get better. Another thing is to practice stuff like going through tight cones, using small steps.

Quickness? Plyometrics!

Look it up on Google, and you'll definitely increase your quickness.

Take big strides when you run.

When I condition at school, I guess the only way to increase your speed is by running sprints up and down. Run about 50 of them for two weeks and you'll look like Boykins on the court.

That'll bump up endurance too... but he's looking for quickness, which is a little different from speed, but yeah, sprints would help with quickness too, but not as effective as plyometrics, imo.

That's more speed than quickness.
