Need help with German!

Sat Mar 26, 2005 12:55 pm

Can someone can translate this s*it?

Alle Preise verstehen sich inkl. der gesetzlichen Mehrwertsteuer.
Die dargestellten Preise stellen eine marktübliche Taxierung unserer Eintrittskarten dar, sie können vom aufgedruckten Kartenpreis abweichen.

i'm just too dummy for this ;-(

Sat Mar 26, 2005 1:35 pm

Translated through Babel Fish

"All prices understand themselves the inclusive legal value added tax. The represented prices represent a usual market rating of our tickets, them can from the imprinted map price deviate"

Not very clear, but looks like you just bought something and it's just general info on additional charges, maybe?

Hi,

happen to speak german since like day 300 (just guessing) of my life. It pretty much means:

All prices include sales tax. The prices displayed represent a customary appraisal of our ticket prices, they may vary from the actual prices displayed on the tickets.

I fucking hate german, I spent 6 years of reading it and I can come up with like 6 words.

Sat Mar 26, 2005 9:16 pm

haha, youre prolly too dumb for something like that

Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:13 pm

I never enjoyed it, in fact I hated it more than anything else, i didn't want to learn it either. Afterall, it's the ugliest language ever existed. I'm quite proud that I passed it though.

Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:22 pm

What are your views on English?

Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:24 pm

I may still suck @ it, but I really enjoy using it and I think everyone (including the french) should learn to speak it.

Sat Mar 26, 2005 11:23 pm

I passed German with an 8/10 but I hate it too. Especially because my teacher thought he was Hitler and liked to punish us for nothing. Maybe he thought I was a jew because of my last name.

Sat Mar 26, 2005 11:28 pm

German is easy,i know it about from 5 or 6 years ( TV :P ),but the lessons are boring to me thought (N)

Sat Mar 26, 2005 11:55 pm

yep, German is easy....it's just like English basically....although for all of you from countries where English isn't your first language then I don't envy you....English is not an easy language....most words have like 3 or 4 different meanings but are spelt the same or pronounced the same....

Ich bin X

Sun Mar 27, 2005 12:11 am

X ist ein schlauberger.

My favorite german word - schlauberger. It was in a dialogue in our book one time.

Sun Mar 27, 2005 12:28 am

Thanks cyanide and smithy_17

not really....just based most of what I said about English being a hard language to learn from people I know who've had to learn it, and I could understand why it would be hard to learn....

as for learning German, like most languages, if you don't use it regularly you forget most of it....like I have :D

German is horrible!!!!! It sounds like everything they speak is in an angry tone.

When you are on a line waiting for something and someone says "excuse me" in german he barks at you like "adoijasodijadoo!" and you are like  .

Bah.

haha  dunno if it was your intention but that was mad funny

maybe youve only been around aggressive germans

Sun Mar 27, 2005 3:34 am

It was my intention... kind of... :P

I've been around regular germans!! (I think)

rofl!! So true. I have a friend who is a good actor, and he was re-enacting a scene between a German marriage proposal, and he was screaming angrily in German alternating between the groom-to-be proposing on his knees, and the bride-to-be recieving the ring. It was hilarious since it was supposed to be all sweet and romantic, but it all came out angry and aggressive!

Sun Mar 27, 2005 7:08 am

It's true, everything Germans say sounds the same; angry. That's half the reason I decided to take German, it just sounds funny. Plus the fact that Latin is terrible, Spanish is easy and everyone in my school plus 1 is taking French.

Want a piece of me?

Ihr verdammten nichtsnutzigen Trottel, ihr habt doch gar keine Ahnung wie schön die deutsche Sprache ist, und außerdem klingt sie keinesfalls böse. Desweiteren ist es eine schwere Sprache, da es fast alle Leute, die Deutsch lernen, sagen.

Just tell me one thing: Why do you think so bad of German? It's a language like all other languages, and it didn't do any harm to you. Besides, you don't even know if it is the ugliest language. For knowing that, you have to speak all languages.

Seems to be the only option.

So what?

Oh, especially because of your teacher? I tell you what: If you still didn't get it, your teacher was just insane and not a regular human being. If you're not dumb, you, of course, understand that not every German person is like that.

And by the way: You can claim what you want, but I guarantee you that your last name is 0% Jewish!

Whatever.

OK, Professor PiksS, then show me, please, how easy German is to you... (man, I just can’t wait for him to fail miserably).
The X wrote:it's just like English basically

You’re right. Many German words resemble English words.

The X wrote: English is not an easy language....most words have like 3 or 4 different meanings but are spelt the same or pronounced the same....

Same deal for German.

Well, this is pretty plain German... that’s only colloquial speech.

The X wrote:as for learning German, like most languages, if you don't use it regularly you forget most of it

Yup. I’ve seen many people going that way.

Jona wrote: When you are on a line waiting for something and someone says "excuse me" in german he barks at you like "adoijasodijadoo!" and you are like  .

No way, man. That just happened once, and will not happen again. German people are maybe not really kind, but their also not rude.

Jona wrote: I've been around regular germans!! (I think)

Obviosly you think too much, and actually don’t know nothing.

FendeR` wrote:It's true, everything Germans say sounds the same; angry

For the last time, it doesn’t sound angry at all. You maybe thought that when you heard it the first time. It’s a pretty nice language.

No, I want a real answer to that one. You live in Germany and pretended to live in Queens? Dumb shit.
