Best STAR-surname for a player. Vote!

Postby Rockwell on Mon Mar 21, 2005 6:06 pm

My friend has a small white child of age about two months. He said he is going to make that kid a future NBA player. Starting with basketball related toys and NBA videos playing in his room all day long to everyday basketball pratices when he'll grow up a little. With such mode kid should baller, not sure about the future in NBA. Kid's father played basketball at college, but never became a pro so now he wants to cover his loss by kid. Idea seems pretty good, considering that father is quite tall and very athletic.
He asked me to chose the surname for his child. He's pretty sure about the first name. So I want you to vote for the surname you think sounds best of these...Or if you know a better surname, post new one...
Please, take it very serious by voting, because one day you'll see that guy in NBA.

Actually, daddy'll change not only kid's surname bout his also. They lived in Europe, but now father lives in US and probably will get US nationality, so they'll have a chance to change it. It's not against the law.

Anthony isn't really a star name, I'd be changing that first.

I dunno, although the father of this particular child sounds very odd. Maybe they should call the kid Child Services.

Clarence Weatherspoon is the funiest name. Mutobo Makamba and whatsoever is African name, not International. We need International name.

What about the first name? Any opinions?

XAVIER!! I've just been thinking about legendary Xavier McDaniel.
But isn't name 'Xavier' come from Latin America or Mexica?

McDaniel was my inspiration too.

Yes,it's a Latin originated name, but it's pronounced havier.

The one I mentioned is pronounced ex-avier... Pretty cool name, too bad it has been used before in the NBA...

the father sounds like a bit of a tool to me as he is trying to live his dreams through his child....what happens if his child likes baseball or soccer or pocket billiards?!? what will he do then?!?

he should encourage his son to play sports and son will likely want to play bball because his dad loves the sport....no need to force-feed the poor kid....

but I guess he's going to so Anthony Stansbury sounds like an alright name....Stansbury sounds like a name with good pedigree for some reason....

I completely agree, the father sounds like an idiot who doesn't give a hoot about his child except to live out his dream.

I like Stansbury. The first name, I'm not so sure. Maybe Stan Stansbury

The daddy better back off if the kid doesn't want to be a basketball star, though.

How 'bout Antonio Anthony...? Seriously now, if this thread id for real then I can guarantee you that the kid will be having psychological issues by th etime he's 15.
I've seen people in my line of work doing some crazy things to get in trouble with the law, and most of them have some semblence of problematic childhood. If this kid gets bombarded with basketball all the way through his teens, he'll probably be seriously malfuctioning as an adult, or just come to hate the sport after all is done.

Hey Rockwell, if your word has any weight on th efather, please do try to talk some sense into him, if only for the child's sake... :(
