Well it kicked off last night with the Bullwogs flogging St George, as everyone expected. The most overhyped player in history played all of 30 minutes, wow! Tahu scored as Parra beat the Tigers, Cronulla somehow beat Penrith and the Roosters were down 12-0 at half time but came back to beat Souths 24-12... before the season most Roosters fans were saying to look out for Soliola, and he scored tonight... along with Monaghan, which was kind of surprising. Good times

lol they use to show every Melbourne Storm game here.....I never liked Rugby League that much...Union is more exciting maybe cause theirs rucks and mauls etc....the Super 12's is something I keep a closer track of......HURRICANES
Man they still havent made a good rugby game.....EA Sports have created a generation of BS Rugby games.....n no one else has done any better.

Rugby Union's a boring mess.

I played both rugby codes as well as afl & soccer, but not really a huge fan of league anymore....but either way, Jae, you're giving Sonny Bill no love....ahh well, he is overhyped but he still is a bloody good player....although I don't know if his fragile frame can withstand the rigors of NRL footy week-to-week....I think he needs to hit weight room big-time as people will be keying on him....
but yeah Trez, EA has made a bunch of crap rugby games, and real bad cricket games as well....AFL game is pretty crappy too now that I think about it....in fact, any non-US sport (with exception of soccer) is usually crap....Rugby 2005 will be coming out in next month or so I think, but wasted money on last edition, don't plan to do the same this time....

Sonny Bill is a good player, but not anywhere near the top echelon of players. Andrew Johns, Lockyer, Minichello, Kimmorley, Gower, Beaderis, even Billy slater are better right now. Sonny Bill Williams wasnt even a starter last season, now he is the most hyped?

Here Here.
I just cant take Yawnion seriosly.
Matt Dunning playing rep games and tests says it all.
The bloke wouldnt be able to cut it in the Jim Beam cup.
Didnt know you would be into the NRL Jae as your from Adelaide n all.
Anyway Ive only been able to go to see 1 game this week which was my Roosters last night.
And now Im going to miss the game I was looking forward to in the Cowboys V $uper League $cum Broncos as Ill be down in Wollongong cheering on the Kings. (why couldnt the NBL finish a week early?)
Sun Mar 13, 2005 10:03 am
Cowboys were part of super league as well..
Sun Mar 13, 2005 10:12 am
Warriors are goin down...... in the league
the best was no.2, cuz they had quite a few "good" players
i admire Kevin Champion(?)'s Defense...
He was then traded to Cowboys..
Sun Mar 13, 2005 11:23 am
Er, there are no trades in rugby league...
Sun Mar 13, 2005 12:08 pm

i meant.. signed by cowboys..

I wouldn't go that far....he's pretty quick and all and scored a wicked try at Origin, but a bit of a defensive liability and IMHO, not as good as Sonny Bill....

Nah I was born/raised in NSW, I can't take much more of the AFL shit they have over here though.
Sonny Bill is a good player as Matthew said, but undeserving of the hype. I'd pick Ryan and Mason over him at the moment in a heartbeat. That being said, as a bias Roosters fan I think Anthony Tupou will end up better then SBW anyways.
Manly somehow beat NZ Warriors, it's gonna be a long long season...
Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:21 pm
btw.. i've no idea what is AFL about..
the oval-shape field is huge..
Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:41 pm
No one knows what AFL is about.
Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:52 pm
but why are there so many people watchin the game..
is it easy to win the bets in this game?
Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:15 pm
Go Souths! Wooden Spoon!

Dont you dare ruin my fun
but the Broncos were a HUGE part of Superleague.

Roosters won

I stayed up to watch the game, it was pretty good... Firman was solid, I love the little fakes and steps Cayless and Morley seem to have learnt in the offseason... they're not overly effective but it's funny all the same. Manly flogged Cronulla, the Rabbitoh's... of all teams... smashed Parra and Melbourne look the best of all the teams so far. Jonathan Thurston's tackles in the Bullwogs/Cowboys game were awesome, not to mention Carl Webb. Great weekend of league
Mon Mar 21, 2005 5:01 pm
Roosters
no one like the silver spooners
Mon Mar 21, 2005 10:25 pm
I loved going to Penrith on Sunday.
That winning feeling you get
The good thing is we still have players to come back
The captains of the Roosters Beer squad in Minichiello and Crocker(if he hasnt had his contract ripped up), and Finch still to come.
Roosters by 20 on Friday me thinks.
Tue Mar 22, 2005 10:29 pm
Wow, Hopoate gone for 17 weeks AND got sacked by Manly. What a dickhead.
Tue Mar 22, 2005 11:32 pm
he's supposedly retired as well....good riddance....no

only
Wed Mar 23, 2005 12:24 am
Hey, I've been wondering this for a while now. What are the main difference between rugby and American Football, besides the pads?
Wed Mar 23, 2005 6:47 am
you can pass the ball forward once with a quarterback to a ...someone who's infront..
in rugby you can't even do a forward pass once..
in AF you get to tackle anyone you like..but not in rugby..
AF has more subs than rugby.. ie, group A for offence, then group B come out for defence.. and theres a stoptime everytime ball changes hand..
in rugby.. time keeps running.. no matter you're injured or not..
and there aren't many subs ..
