I think number one on the agenda has to be the retirement of a certain Mr. Jackal. Well quasi-retirement, he's still going to post somewhat but it's a school related hiatus. Those things never work, people leave with the intention of doing well at school only to realise that the reason they weren't getting good grades isn't because they spend too much time online, but it's because they're just plain stupid. Not that Jackal's stupid, but that was my experience with my own retirement. What else happened... oh, well, COOLmac made an astounding 116 posts in General Talk alone
Who does he think he is? Me? They all blend into one big long post after a while, but will the constant flaming get to him at some point? Only time will tell...
On the same end of the scale, Najira changed his name + account about 500 times after some sort of strange violent argument with his girlfriend. It was quite LankyMan-esque, but hopefully he's snapped out of it... albeit at the expense of a few BOTW candidates. Back to Jackal, despite his retirement he still couldn't escape his critics. That spammer from .org returned just to say goodbye, and alexboom took it upon himself to decide it was a good idea for le Jackale to take le break because he le flames too much'e. Apparentely. Anyways, while I'm still awake we shall carry on...
POSTER OF THE WEEK
You know what, it's happened again... I didn't really expect it, but once again the award for this week will be shared by another two people. After Jona and cyanide winning last week, following in their footsteps in this episode are....
The X & Drex
The X is someone I've had a "fondness" (not that sort, homophobes) for since he started posting at the NLSC... an intelligent Australian poster who can use correct punctuation and spelling while still making somewhat coherent sentences is a rarity these days. Just ask Dragon. The only thing in my opinion that really held 'X back lately was his activity around General Talk, but all that went out the window this week when he posted more around here than ever before. His dynasty is also superb btw, if anyone hasn't checked it out yet. Definitely a welcome addition to the NLSC's always large Australian population. Even when drunk.
Drex is an interesting little character. He was fairly quiet from what I've seen since I re-joined the NLSC, but lately he's completely come out of his shell and is one of those "newer" guys that I like having around. He's similar to Wormy10 in the sense that he's got a perfect balance between being a good contributive poster and spamming a little bit... see it's like a fat ass with a chocolate cake, even a little bit is alright in moderation. Not that I'd moderate a fat guy with a chocolate cake... I like Drex, and it was good to see him propel himself right into the power rankings.
We'll be skipping the "Random List" for this week, reasons will soon become clear...
TOOL OF THE WEEK
Tsk tsk tsk... I do feel a little bit bad giving this award out, because lately everyone's just jumped on his ass and he seems to absorb it and carry on... wait a minute, no, COOLmac won't be winning Tool of the Week for this week! Let the shock set in for a second as I reveal this week's Golden Spanner to... He who's name shall not be spoken!. If you don't know who this is, maybe this will give you more of an idea. I mean geez, it started with the sniping comments and bitching about not making the power rankings, and then every 2nd thread it's "I did not read the thread, what is going on?" Seriously, shut up. Anyways, in the spirit of not mentioning this person... here's some COOLmac stuff...

NLSC POWER RANKINGS
I'm not as motivated anymore. The sooner I get this done the sooner I can go to sleep
. There's been a fair bit of activity in the power rankings this week, it was actually pretty enjoyable thinking up who would take what position. And yes, I think they're all entirely deserved...
1: cyanide (Last Week: 3, Up 2)
I've spoken to a few people around the NLSC on MSN about him, and the general consensus is that cyanide is one of the best newcomers this forum has had in a long long time.
2: Jowe (Last Week: 2, No Movement)
In typical fashion, Jowe is the main name features in the Burns of the Week and once again, deservedly so. Although one was my creation, I've still got it! Somewhere.
3: Jackal (Last Week: 7, Up 4)
In his last week at the NLSC for now, Jackal made it count. His activity was up, and his retirement thread will go down as one of the better ones made at the NLSC.
4: The G.O.A.T. (Last Week: 1, Down 3)
Little bit slower from GOAT this week, but not by too much. Jackal mentioned him in his retirement thread, and in my opinion he's definitely the future of this place.
5: The X (Last Week: Unranked)
Co-poster of the week, and finally after all of my mini-beggings started posting more and more regularly in General Talk. Could easily pull a cyanide and jump straight into the top 3.
6: Drex (Last Week: Unranked)
Took a step further in his probably un-known quest to become one of the more solid and reliable posters in General Talk. Reminds me a bit of a non-aggressive Matthew sometimes.
7: JoeBuddah (Last Week: Unranked)
Finally climbed his way back into the top 10 after returning from having kids and such to posting more in General Talk. Also got a mention in Burns Of The Week, which could've easily been #1.
8: Matt (Last Week: 6, Down 2)
Had a surprisingly quiet week around these parts during the week, uni must be going back or something. That's what happens when people get their lives back, their posting slows down.
9: Null17 (Last Week: Unranked)
Deservedly jumps into the top 10 for the first time. He's been threatening to do so for a while now but finally pulled it all together to push a few guys out of contention.
10: SkipToMy_Lou (Last Week: 9, Down 1)
Rounds out the top 10 with a quiet-ish week by his high standards, but again it must have something to do with school or whatever. Ventured into the rock thread, which gains some brownie points.
