I hate streetball.

I hate streetball. I LOVE traditional basketball, without those stupid flashy moves. It is simple, and you win games with it.

You know, years ago, the Globetrotters did halfcourt shots, got your pants down, played with the ref.

Now the "show" basketball is pretty aggressive. When they throw the ball at your face, shit like that. Like, the objective is to humble your opponents. It was much more humorous back then, like a family show.

I still like some of it but some of the moves they do are just ridiculous.

When they do that, to me, it's not even basketball. It's a different sport because they are changing the rules for stupid moves that don't get anybody or anything closer to the basket to score. That's how I feel about streetball. They do all them moves but never get an inch closer to the hoop, maybe even an inch further away from the hoop?

James got it, it's not really basketball anymore, but just some artistic stuff with a basketball. Of course it's utterly useless in a basketball game but some of these moves are nice to watch

God.. I hate streetball

Of course I play on street courts, but I don't call it 'streetball'. Just some pick-up games like in the gym, but without setting picks and all that stuff you just don't do outside. I hate streetball as in and1 players making traveling violations 4 times in 1 move. Their shooting fakes are like pulling up for the jumper, coming down and dribble again, that's just weak.

I love streetball to a point. There is a limit. For example And 1 Mixtapes 1 and 2 are the kind of streetball I like, the never ones suck. I agree on the double dribbles etc. But on the streets nobody gets respect by using the pick 'n roll. +Basic basketball sometimes gets boring to watch if there's no flair or something.
To sum it up: I like Iverson.

Riot that makes no sense, it is his nickname. Why shouldn't people call him that? BTW, I hate people that call Kevin Garnett 'KG', his name is Kevin.

I don't like those excessive travelling/double-dribble/pointless moves. But if a bunch of people are playing ball seriously with picks and post-ups, etc. I like it when someone throws it through the defenders legs.

without streetball there would not be any jamall tinsley or anybody like him because those were guys who mastered streetball and were able to apply incredible SB skills to the league.

well, thats cuz he really did grow up in streetball, even if i wasnt a pacer fan i still would have said him. i know marbury did too, but people had already talked about him, so i decided to bust out the T-Man.

To the man that said we shouldn't watch it if we don't like it: I don't watch it. This is a forum though where we discuss things and this specific topic was made to discuss streetball and gave my opinion.

I like watching it for moves, but not for basketball. If the stuff they did was legal it would be way better.

it's fun to try that stuff tho, if you're playing pickup 3 on 3 or something with friends you don't always play with rules "on". Although I do set picks anyways.

Rafer tho, when he tries the and1 stuff on the raptors and it usually doesn't work, that pisses me off. Sometimes though it's like half-streetball and the move is really efficient. You know what i mean?

Yeah I hate it aswell. Specially those tools who bring a stereo to the playgrounds and play G-Unit music while practicing their moves without noticing the basket. I guess that why they call it "streetball" and not "street-basketball" because they only use the street and a ball while not giving a damn about the basket.

Skip 2 my lou was his streetball name. The Big Ticket, KG, DA Kid that is nickname. But you have those 13 year old kids going "Let's get skip because he can dribble and I saw him mixtape 2!"

Streetball isn't basketball, but it is entertaining to watch every once in awhile purely because of it's flash.
