Your Collections?

Postby Jackal on Fri Feb 04, 2005 1:50 am

Do people on the forum collect stuff? If you do, what do you collect? Any reason as to why you collect those paticuliar things?

I mainly collect DVD's & Coca Cola related stuff. The Coke thing is just a facsination, sort of took it over from my uncle after he passed away.

I've got around 40 orso DVD's upto now, all bought not one of them copied.

What do you guys collect? I know two already, Filip: Porn. Andreas: Shoes & Mazzocchi: anything his parents will buy for him, jerseys.

I would like to collect shoes but I don't have enough money for them, but I buy all kinds of basketball stuff whenever possible, apparell and such. Don't have very much of them though.

right now the only thing I collect is basketball pictures from the internet, rare and cool ones. Sounds weird I know :(

hmmm...i guess some videos...basketball videos (dvd/vcd and some mixtapes and commercials i downloaded, they're about 8-9 gb), wrestling videos (i recently got back to watching those things as i have found a way to download shows and i really like watching their home videos, 21gb because of the shows i DL everyweek), i got a bunch of video game trailers as well (probably coz that's the closest thing i can ever come close to playing some of them since i don't have a console :( )

i got a lot of what filip collects as well  around 20gb i think but i don't really watch them anymore i just keep 'em coz i have a lot of hard disk space lying around

On the island I used to collect beer can pins. Whatever you call those things, you know the little thing you pop up to open up the can? I had hundreds of them. My mom made me throw them all away when we moved here.

I have about 200+ retail dvd's & stupid amount of copied dvd's, but I don't really collect, I just buy what I like. The main thing I love to collect is sword's, knife's and any other martial arts weapons I can find. My main collection is at my mums house, its been their for about 3 years, need to go and collect. I still have a large new collection, just to verify, Im not talking about shitty replica imitation stuff either, all my blades are the real deal. I have a really nice double bladed hand/throwing knife, thats my favorite at the moment. If this thread grows and I have the time I'll wip up some snaps and post em, what harm can it do.
I also like to collect smoking paraphernalia(pipes, bongs etc). I prefer glass and as you can imagine I smash alot cleaning, so I go through loads of items. I have just decided to start collecting old consoles & games, going to start with the sega saturn, there's some games on that system that I absolutely love. Click me

I also collect PC GAMER magazines.
I don't collect nowadays since I don't find it very entertaining to read them anymore (atleast not as much as before).
I got most issues from 1996 - 2004 (includ the first issue NR 1 November 1996).

I got both 96 issues nov & dec, half of all 97 issues, all of 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03 & half of 04 (Last issues before I quit was Juny 04).
Some issues are lost though.

I collect lots of stuff.

Autographs (I have William Avery, Joe Smith, Wally Szczerbiak, Terrell Brandon, Brett Favre :x , Randy Moss, Malik Sealy, Gary Trent and a bunch of other Minnesota Viking players)

Bobblehead dolls (Kevin Garnett, Wally Szczerbiak, Rasho Nesterovic, Flip Saunders, Kevin McHale, Joe Smith, Crunch, Kirby Puckett and Matt Lawton)

Beanie baby sport players (Randy Moss, Kevin Garnett, Wally Szczerbiak and a bunch of others in my closet)

Um...what else? I don't know. Just a bunch of sports stuff all over my room, pretty much all Minnesota sports stuff besides a Paul Pierce poster and some other football and basketball posters. (Y)

That's an impressive amount of DVD's, hats off to both of you. Bare with me since I've just recently started earning my own money. This way I can spend it on whatever I like, 40 DVD's in a year isn't that bad.

I had a stamp collection too, although I don't know what happened to that. I used to have a pamflet kind of collection too, every week a "K-Pasa" would come out on the island, with events happening that week. Sort of like a guide to the hot spots each week. It would come out in different colours, I had alot of those, didn't see the point of mentioning it since I doubt anyone knows what I'm talking about.

Ooh, I found the link to the site. They do for St. Maarten too.

Not bad at all. I should've pointed out that my amount includes what my gf buys as well. We also live 5 min away from a huge 24hour hypermarket, because its so close we do all our shops there, even the small things like the odd pint of milk or whatever...So I'm always at the dvd/games section and always 1st to get the best reduced price dvd's, so most of the dvd's I buy, cost about £6/£7. I already have all the latest release's, because I DL 24/7, I never stop. So when I watch a movie I really like, I wait until its reduced then buy the original, which BTW IMO you cant beat.

I don't download as much, I just watch them in the theatre & end up buying them. My sis works at an electronics store so I get discount too, I doubt I would have as many if she didn't get me discount.

I kind of went off and on with collecting coins and stamps, the most recent being World War II stamps. I'm starting a new DVD collection, but I'm trying not to make it a habit and only restricting it to my favorite movies only since I don't have wads of cash to throw.

I collect records these days. I got a turntable for christmas, and found a good little indie music shop that has all the music that I listen too. I probably have about 25 or so from the last month.

SLAM Magazines. I don't really read them as much as I used to, but they keep coming in the mail, and I keep putting them in ceram wrap. I've got the premier issue, plus some other special one's along with Issue 45 to whatever issue they're on right now.

Also collect TV Guides, Sports Illustrated's, and ESPN Magazines. They just keep coming, and my closet is really starting to pile up.
