The last time this topic came up it didn't end too well, but still... my opinion on religion has altered slightly. In the sense that my argument is alot less aggressive than it used to be. I can pretty much sum up my opinions in point form...

 I don't believe in God, I've got nothing against people whom do unless they try and force it down other peoples throats.
 Any religious person that threatens someone with damnation to hell for having an opposing view on religion to them, is a hypocrit.
 I think sometimes people take the whole idea of "worshipping" a bit too far, to the point where they fail to take responsibility for their own actions, instead blaming Satan or whomever.
 I don't believe wars that start are purely because of religion. If people weren't so stupid, they wouldn't kill each other over these little things.
 People are entitled to believe in what they want. If someone wants to believe God is amongst us and keeps them safe, then so be it. On the other hand, if someone wants to believe that's a load of rubbish then once again, so be it.
 I think that's about it.

I know alot of religious people would disagree with me, and that's fine... opinions are for that. That's how it should stay though, as an opinion. I'm not trying to say my beliefs are fact, they are what I beleive and that's that. Same goes for anyone who disagrees, it's their belief and I respect that. It is not, however, fact.

That being said, I think everything I just wrote was pretty much off topic

My concept of God is on the left, meaning anything traditional, conservative, and following a major religion is what I reject, and base my beliefs more on spirituality and rationality.

people who force down to your throat that there is a God are the one who really dont believe in HIM and use his name for some reason to even take you away far from believing in GOD. its a devil thing. they just dont know it.

everyone is entitled to his beliefs and deep down sometime in your life you will surely know there is really something worth believig for. it may not be now, soon or in the future. SATAN has got nothing to do with it.

I get pissed when I read about overly-religious parents suing schools for teaching evolution to the kids. Really, this is what happend. There's theory's to prove it. The only proof that these religious nuts have is the Bible.

God won Bush the election. Another reason to hate religious maniacs who call themselves "Born-again Christians."

Oh, and what's with these stupid Christian scientists who refuse to use medicine when they're sick. Weirdos, if you ask me.

It's a pretty good book. The writing isn't that great, but it's a good page turner and it's filled with interesting facts. But don't take it as gospel, as even though they are based on facts, but it is a fiction, so not everything should be taken as truth. There's a lot of books out there that show misrepresentation of the truth in the Da Vinci Code. Other than that, it's a book worth reading.

I dont care for religon. I believe in god, and somtimes I pray to him. If a religous nut starts to tell me that im wrong, i dont get worked up about it, i think its amusing. However, i think its wrong that people judge people for believing in god.

In other words, I think i religon comes down to a personal relationship with god, so if you have that, keep it between you and god and dont dictate to others what they "should" and "shouldnt" be doing.

hehe, theories don't prove anything, they are just proposals and not facts and thus evolution will never become a fact.

Likewise there's plenty of evidence in scriptures as well as video footage of miracles that proposes the existence of God.

There's video footage of David Blaine levitating and turning a cup of coffee into a cup of coins, are we going to worship him now?

same here...

except that I oppose organized religion in any form... I don't need other people telling me what to believe or how to live my life or to give them money or whatever... I choose to not have a religion, and I've been doing just fine. I hate it when I explain this to people they think I'm atheist but I'm not. I do believe in a god, but I just don't need some stupid book or some dude telling me what I need to believe.

Its one thing to not believe in religon, its another to oppose it totally. You complain that people in religon force it down your throat (which they arent really, they cant force you to do anything) but saying you oppose it sounds like you look down or differently on those who do, which is the same kind of ignornace, only reversed...

Thats exactly the way I see it.

not necessarily... I respect other people's beliefs... If it gets them though the day, it's cool, but organized religion is something that I try to stay away from. I really have no problem with other people's religiousness, unless they're so religious that it starts messing with their thought process and they can't even think straight... That book was really overhyped by the press and media in my opinion.
It was a solid page-turner like cyanide said, but Brown lacked a LOT of depth in his writing. The facts were pretty neat but it was nothing to die for.
If you want to read an entertaining book for 3 straight days, learn some cool stuff but finish with a shitty ending, grab it now. 8-)

I was impressed by the book, I'd read his previous novel named Angels & Demon's and I was impressed with that one too. He's a good writer, when I read his stuff...it sounds out of this world but the fact remains I can imagine the things right before my eyes.

He's a good writer, if you can do pickup the Angels & Demon's book, it's also based on Robert Langdon. (Y)

when people force you to be religious and it made u mad then satan and his friends are very much happy about it. thats the way the devil works and by creating confusion and all. if you set your mind clear and do things straight and what you not only think is right but even inside your heart then it means God is working alongside with you.Just like the air working inside your lungs without you asking it to work there.

Now to Mikki
