Lleyton Hewitt

Theres been a lot of controversy about his oncourt behaviour... I wanna see wat u guys think. I know heaps of ppl have different opinions of him about how his 'c'mons' should not be after an unforced error which could offend his opponent. It all comes down to what we define as sportsmanship.

Some ppl on the other side of the debate claim that the point which angered that guy who spat at him... name start with C right? yeah- they said the point was an unforced error and that it was an important error. And that Hewitt doesnt aim his shouting at opponents which means he is not trying to rag them anyway.. so no need to get offended.

I think that Hewitt isnt going too far becasue all he's doing is psycing himself up and thats what makes him a better player- his ego. As soime may know, 1% of sport is physiocal, 99% is mental...

Chela from Argentina is the guy who spat on him.

Maybe he shouldn't scream after his opponent made a mistake. At least in the firsts sets. If he does a point, he can scream if he wants, it's good to pump-up yourself, and get the crowd into the game, and to support you.

I can see why it'd bother them, but if the unforced error wins a big point for him then why not? He's not celebrating their error, he's celebrating the point... I think tennis players can be too uptight sometimes. Bring back McEnroe... as a player.

C'moN!

LLeyton is exciting to watch, if they want an unemotional sport, then go watch golf.

well after he got whooped from Safin he looked like he was gonna burst into tears....understable since he was trying to win on home soil....yeah he does kinda get annoying but as Jowe said u need to have diff personalities n stuff for a sport to be a sport.

Mon Jan 31, 2005 5:08 pm

he annoys the shit out of me.....his "c'mon" is totally retarded and he's dating a child, haha, not that has anything to do with Tennis but i hope he fails just for pissing me off

If he was from Poland you'd want to father his children.

I don't really like Hewitt too much, although I like him more than I use to thanks to the Poo (Phillipousis) taking on the villain role over last couple of years. Was more of a fan of Pat Rafter like everyone else. Rafter was a class act and you had to respect him. As for Hewitt, I don't mind the odd come on when he makes a big play, but it's annoying to see him say come on everytime the opposing player makes an unforced error.

Isn't Pat Rafter gay ?

Mon Jan 31, 2005 9:10 pm

if it means having a hot biatch wife like Rafter's, feel free to call me gay too

lol agreed Rafter was the only Aussie tennis player I liked...because he didnt act so annoying even though he looked like a gorilla at times...

Ive seen Hewitt's wife in some aussie movie....it was like some aussie college flick and she tries to piss of her bf by fucking some chimpanzee....

and wat the fuck was Greg Normann and Damien Martyn doing there.....how jobless can they get to come watch a tennis match.... :|

Tue Feb 01, 2005 11:26 am

compared to McEnroe Hewitt is an angel.

Tue Feb 01, 2005 12:52 pm

What things McEnroe did?? :?:

Tue Feb 01, 2005 4:32 pm

besides Mcenroe's....."that ball is on the line" he didnt really keep saying a catch phrase after every point he got.

Tue Feb 01, 2005 5:30 pm

Greg Norman flew into australia at 2 pm on match day to watch hewitt...

And interesting fact: my headmaster was the headmaster of Hewitt's school when he was in grade 6 and 7 and hewitt chased our headmaster's dfaughter back in the day... but wat was real funny is that we were told that hewitt played in the 18 year old comp at the age of whatever he was in grade 7 and dfidnt lose a set! and we were told hes had that attitude ever since or whatever...

I actually feel sorry for him.
with him being pressured by his parents and all.

Ive seen it before in Tennis (and Im sure would be the case with other sports)
The coach is trying to say something and the parent over rules it.
The parent is there at every lesson telling them to do better etc

The way I see it when the parents pressure them young thy either give up the game by 14, or they continue doing it to keep the parents happy but are unhappy playing the game..
