Why do People Kill Other People/Themselves

why.......strange really that some ppl kill each other and others doesnt and some kill themselves....whats the reason.....and why does almost every teen ponder suicide sometime or the other or hope to kill someone else they dont like/hate....

why is something like this existant in human nature?

getting philosphical all of a sudden huh... I guess it's the result of today's pressure society, everyone is supposed to succeed in life in all aspects and failing is not accepted

Every teen feels the need to commit suicide? Hmm, guess I've got a year more to feel the need to kill myself.

Why do we want to kill each other? You'd have to ask the question of why we feel certain emotions such as anger/rage, jealousy, betrayal etc etc.

These things drive us to kill some one, what's the best way to rid someone from your life? What's the best way to take away something important from someone? By killing them, you rob them of the only thing they NEED, to live.

On the other hand, you have people like me who'd just like to kill them for fun, like a sport. (Yes, it's a joke, don't you sentimental well do'ers start bitching.)

Then ofcourse you have cannibals, they just like to kill because they like the taste of human flesh. It's like chicken for them.

Then there are the psycho's (any jokes and I will turn ballistic on your ass, so shush)...they feel they can "preserve" that person by killing them. The period before the victim is killed is seen as a "bonding" thing. There are also the sadists, that just like to see the victim beg & plead, it gives them a better feeling about themselves.

Then there is Saddam, he used to kill to preserve power.

Then there are some guys who take alot of pills but somehow don't manage to die. (Or did he not take them?, I know he was contemplating it.)

I blame the miltary for all the possible scenarios of these death possibilities you named.

B. The military sometimes make me wanna kill myself!
C. I hope everyday that someone will kill certain commanders!

Yes this isn't all true (in my case), but almost, but I'm sure some ppl feel that way over here.

Just tired of the shit, I still don't regret I joined the army.

I don't know and probably will never know. I think about it alkl the time because the news is on 24/7 in my house. I wish there was a way to stop it but there isn't. the only thing I can do is pray every day and not think those thoughts myself.

Australia has a high youth suicide rate. Most of them due to the pressure of the HSC taht is put on them by society and their parents.

HSC = Higher school certificate , u need to do well to get into uni and stuff.

All of those are determined by chemicals in the brain. Aggression and how well a person controls it has to do with neurotransmitters and what not. Some people get pleasure from killing people...it's like a drug, the act releases dopamine in the brain and that's why serial killers come about. Of course, serial killers generally have serious trauma that screws up the NTs and chemical balances...

Suicide is similar. Chemical imbalances due to genetics, drugs, trauma, and other things that would screw up the natural balance of the brain.

Don't quote me on those, I got a D in brain and behavior. :embarassed: I can almost gurantee you that most of that stuff deals with dopamine and sodium channels, though.

dopamine affects nuerons involved in memory and emotion, rewarding activities like eating and sex with pleasurable feelings. Not sure if murder qualifies.

If a release in dopamine can cause people to murder then it's bad if they are drug addicts because they will crave drugs, which of course release dopamine.

People kill themselves because they either don't want to live on like they do, or something has happened that they feel they don't want to be a part of anymore.

People either kill out of necessity or pleasure. Those that kill out of pleasure generally get some sort of sexual benefit, and that's where the dopamine comes in. Most serial killers have some sort of sexual aspect to their murders; Jack the Ripper killed hookers, Ted Bundy raped and murdered, Jeffrey Dahmer raped, murdered and ate his male victims. All serial killers that I know of killed with some sort of sexual connection. The serial that would not be caught would the one who did nothing sexual to his victims and had no connection. There's other stuff, too, but those are the main things.
