G4 Drops TechTV Name

MrM writes "According to the latest press release from G4techTV, G4 will drop the TechTV name in mid-February 2005. This comes as a major step to the old TechTV viewers, as the focused content has become gaming-oriented once more. G4 also released a copy of their "redesigned" logo, but quickly pulled it off the web after release." The article also includes details of "two new series, "Formula D" and "Girls Gone Wired." Formula D appears to be coverage of Drift Racing (because obviously gamers love that), and unfortunately Girls Gone Wired appears to be exactly what you'd expect: Guys ogling video game characters in a beauty pageant.

damn before they merged with G4 i loved Tech TV, watched it constantly
now i watch less because they dropped Call For Help and now the other Kevin and Chi Lan-Li are hosting TSS?! What?! Kevin Rose was the best,
now i doubt i'll watch G4 period, if not only for TSS, X-Play and Cinematech
damn this blows
annyone that watches/knows about G4TechTV will probally agree with me

I used to watch tech tv, before they cut it from the cable here becuase of the merge im guessing....

I have G4tech tv i mean G4 it jus shows reruns all the time. Getting tired of that.

yeah...
its kinda weird seeing the guys hosting different shows and what not... but WTF?! the reason i got into all this way for extended play on techtv, and when they became xplay, i was like.. ok.. small change, alright. then they move to LA and merge with G4, ok.. some good shows on G4... but they did take away some good shows on techtv... well, i still can deal with this.. but.. now they basically strip away the old. FUCK! ah well, they'd better do something good to make up for this (N)

I don't watch tv when i'm in college but when i'm home i used to watch techtv when one of them video game shows and call for help were on. i didn't even know they merged with g4. probably coz i haven't watched techtv in a while. and wisdom_kid has a point, the endless reruns are annoying. they have like one episode of a show and play it several times for a week or something
