JCLive.tk - An attempt of our own.

Today me & Cameron would like to release a project we've been working on for awhile now.

It started off as a simple idea, we love the NLSC and Dotorg but we just wanted something we could call our own. Basically I just one day out of the blue said I'd like to start something of my own, I happened to be talking to Cameron.

I'd had the idea for quite some time now but as we all know I'm good for absolutely nothing, so I never let it get further than just an idea.

Anyways, I spoke to Cameron & the two of us decided if we put in enough hard work, time & effort we could start up something of our own.
He has the ability to handle websites, do technical stuff and come up with ideas. I have the ability to whine, complain and throw hissy fits. What could be a better combination than that?

So a few months back we went to work, we started brainstorming. Cameron arranged a very generous and nice hosting plan for us. (Many thanks to the hosts once again.) After we got the hosting set up we proceeded to recruit a couple of guys for the patching section.

Filip, who has matured as a poster and as a patcher agreed to join our patching team, we saw his work, liked it and added him.
Tuomas, who's patches speak for themselves was kind enough to join us also when we asked him.
Lpasso is also one of the patchers and for a relatively new guy this guy can patch.

We were considering some other guys, talented guys like the ones mentioned above but unfortunately most of them seem to have their own hosts. Quite logical though, quality patchers are added quickly to quality websites.

The main purpose is just to give some variety. I know alot of you will think, bah...we have the NLSC & Dotorg, why would we want to visit another site with another forum? Good question, when I get an answer to that one, I'll get back to you. For now all I ask from you as a member of the community is to sign up to the forums or we will morph into Power Rangers and zap you with electronic gadgets that look like twizzlers.

Thanks to Matthew, who has agreed to help us out if needed, Nick (Air Gordon) who once upon a time said he might help by doing articles, hope that offer still stands, Sebastian who agreed to do some aswell and Amr who's role will be unveiled in weeks/months to come.

A huge thanks to everyone involved and an even bigger than huge thanks to the leading websites in patches and all other NBA Live related stuff, the NLSC & Dotorg.

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again apologise to Andrew from the NLSC for what happened a few months ago, and ofcourse to David to whom I said quite a few nasty things that were not needed at all.

I don't expect him to accept it but I would appreciate it.

But im going to be honest why make another community, yes for patchers but have the vets are here and at org... and if community here (has slowed down a little i think)... How can yours be even a bigger success...

So, what does this site bring that's different to NLSC and dotorg? I think that should be worked on if you want my attention.

Don't worry Guru, my reaction would've been exactly the same. In fact, I would've probably flamed and said one or more nasty things. The site has come over well up to now, people have been kind so far.

For the time being it's not about being an even bigger success than the NLSC or Dotorg. The comparison alone is not worthy, these two sites have been around for what seems like forever, they pioneered the whole idea, we're just leeching and just attempting to bring you something other than these two. We're not attempting to challenge the two sites which in reality is impossible. We just wanted to create something of our own, get a few patchers to patch, have perhaps an article section, some of our own stuff and perhaps even a game recap for special games orso. It's just in the beginning stages so bare with us Guru, we're not professionals, we're all just a bunch of newbies who are just striving to do what these two sites have given you all along, patches, a place to visit & a community. Sure, there are more than enough but yeah, if that's the mentality then why make more patches than needed for a certain player? People's taste differs, there are some that like one community more than they like the other, perhaps we get some people who are kind enough people who seem enthusiastic about making a new community. (Drex would be a perfect example and ofcourse the other people that signed up.)

It would be nice though if you did. Even a minimum of one post a day or would be welcomed. I'll give you your very own free e-hug. :eyebrows:

In our attempt to do something different we have a few idea's in the works, ofcourse they require help from people other than ourselves, now that the site has been opened perhaps we can begin talking about whatever it is we had planned etc.

The forum has a nice addition too. Well, it's still to be installed but it's been downloaded and all. I think it's quite a nifty feature. We have the "cash" mod hack. It sort of rewards the poster for his posts, we figured the user could use his "cash" to "buy" something on the forum. So maybe this person wants to turn his points into a patch request.
We're working on it so that spamming isn't rewarded, I'd be rich by now if that wasn't worked on.

We have a spam forum too but the nasty thing (for users like Mazzochi) is that whatever you post in the spam forum isn't added to your post count. Spamming's not rewarded kiddies.

Anywho's, I'd again like to stress the fact that we've received many kind words from alot of people. Both of the leading two websites have had their fair share in kind words and have seemed enthusiastic and willing to support the idea. This ofcourse is a plus since we had figured we'd probably be the laughing stock. Mikki has also been very kind and said he's available for help anytime we need it, almost everyone has said that though so it's really appreciated guys.

We've also added a new patcher, a very very quality patcher to say the least, so now we have a patcher for jersey's too. Many thanks to him for his willingness to join us. At first I was in such a shock I thought he was playing some kind of rude joke on me. Aah, gotta be more positive.
