Moore Set to Shoot 'Fahrenheit' Sequel

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Michael Moore plans a follow-up to ``Fahrenheit 9/11,'' his hit documentary that assails President Bush over the handling of the Sept. 11 attacks and the war on terrorism, according to a Hollywood trade paper.

Moore told Daily Variety that he and Harvey Weinstein, the Miramax boss who produced the film, hope to have ``Fahrenheit 9/11 1/2'' ready in two to three years.

``Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information (in this election) and we want to educate and enlighten them,'' Moore was quoted in Thursday's edition of Variety. ``They weren't told the truth. We're communicators and it's up to us to start doing it now.''

A spokesman for Fellowship Adventure Group, formed by Weinstein and brother Bob to help distribute ``Fahrenheit 9/11,'' did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

``Fahrenheit 9/11,'' which won top honors at May's Cannes Film Festival, became the first documentary to top $100 million at the domestic box office. Moore, who won the documentary Academy Award for ``Bowling for Columbine,'' is pushing ``Fahrenheit 9/11'' in the best-picture category for the upcoming Oscars.

The issues for the follow-up film will remain the same, Iraq and terrorism, Moore said.

``The official mourning period is over today and there is a silver lining: George W. Bush is prohibited by law from running again,'' Moore said.

Read about that also. Sounds pretty much the same...

I for one don't like Fahrenheit 9/11 as much as Bowling for Columbine.
I thugh that one was a much better documentary... (Although I don't think Fahrenheit 9/11 counts as an documentary)

Maybe it's just me, but I think they should have named it Fahrenheit 12.
Just to sorta compare it to the Oceans 11 series, of which the sequel, Oceans 12, is coming soon. A must-see...by me anyway.

We go from a serious based movie (September 11th) to Oceans 12. A bunch of guys robbing a bank.

Leave it to Lanky man, leave it to Lanky man.

Please do!
I probably won't see Fahrenheit 11 1/2. I don't see Moore doing anything much else besides what he does best- bashing the U.S. government. It would be interesting to see what he has to say about Bush's re-election, though.
Oceans 12 will kick ass, by the way, eh?

I will want to see it.

I definitely like his older stuff better, much funnier and less gruesome. I remember watching a couple of different ones, one where he took smokers who have the operation where they get the hole in their throat and have to talk through the voice generator thing, and he took them to cigarrette companies and sang Christmas carols. I also remember one where he went to places like Nike and asked the pres to go to like Indonesia with him (where the sweatshops are). Funny stuff.

BTW Jackal, you seem to have borrowed my colour!!! :) And why you not on msn anymores???

well that's because the first one was called fahrenheit 9/11 representing sept.11 not "fahrenheit 11" and 9/12 isn't really that significant.

It doesn't actually critizese Bush as much as I hoped.
It started of great, but as time wen't on, he left Bush as a person more and more, and started to talk about Irak.

I didn't know he made that movie...
Long time since I saw it, but at the moment I though it was great. Gotta love John Candy's old stuff. (y)

Michael Moore is a creative genious, and is one of the best filmmakers of this era. It is a shame that people don't respect his work because of his appearance, because he has always done thought provoking and insightful work.

And to what soeme of you were talking about earlier, about the title, it was just a small reference that the date of the attacks of 9/11, becuase the title is referring to a movie the temperature at which paper burns. It was from a title of a movie done in the 60's called Fahrenheit 451.
