GTASA released today

yeah i am aware that there is already a gta thread but i thought i would make a new one to say that this game is being released today by EB if anyone wants to try and get a copy. i will be playing it tonight and if anyone who dont have it wants to know about it throw a question at me and i will find out the answer for you.

imo its easily the best gta to date. there is just so much to do. after only 1 night of playing i have only done a couple of the starter missions(basicly tutorial missions) and explored what i could(2 other areas are blocked off, like other gta games). so where to start? how about the sound track

if you like 90's music at all you will agree with me in thinking this is easily the best sound track for any video game ever. you like rap? they got a couple of stations for you, one of which i like alot(yeah i have said i hate rap but i should have said new rap, i loved the 90's rap). nwa,dre, ice cube,2pac,cypress hill,too short, and eazy E. they got some names there. for the rock fans out there you got a current(90's current) station and a classic rock station. got GNR,ratm,faith no more,stone temple pilots,danzig,ozzy and others for the rock station and people like tom petty,heart,boston, the who, bowie,eddie money,billy idol, and my fav lynyrd skynyrd for the classic rock station. they got other stations that i never listen too also like regge and country.

mini games, first thing i did, after driving around a bit to explore, was enter a bar. when i got in there i saw a guy standing at some pool tables. i went over for a look and to my surprise, i could play him for money. i played 2 games, losing 50 bucks each time(you pick gambled amount from 50-1000) both times from scratching the 8ball. i will go back and win my money back tonight. they also had video games in the bar to play with.

weapons, each gta game is bound to have new weapons and this is no different. of course i have only seen 2 new weapons but i am sure there will be more later. the 2 i got were a pool stick and a spray paint can. beating people with the pool stick is really fun for some reason, specially after you just lost 100 bucks playing pool.

vehicles, so far i have only seen a couple different vehicles, like a tractor or RV but the new one i like alot is the BMX. they even have ramps for you to mess around with if you want to, though my skill with a bike is really bad. this brings me to my next point....

RPGish, you now have areas in which you gain skill. drive a car enough your driving skill goes up. ride a bike your bike skill improves. the list of skills goes on a bit too. it involves each weapon.

new stuff, its fun being able to get a Tat or get a hair cut. before i got my fro and changed my clothes people were insulting me on the street but now that i have changed that stuff its not so bad and my sex appeal meter has improved alot. oh btw did i mention you can have a gf in this game too?

anyway my overall opinion of the game is i love it. i have been at work all day dieing to go home and play it and i still got another hour to go. this may very well be one of my fav games ever and imo should win goty.

oh and so this dont sound to fanboyish i will point out a few of the bad spots.

1. graphics, very dated, cant wait for ps3 to fix this.

2. have to use analog to move. might be fine for alot of you but it will take me a bit of getting used to. fortunatly thanks to nba live i am getting pretty good at the analog.

3. city layout. in the ghetto the layout is crap but i guess that in intentional. the country side i like alot more. i think my main complaint is in the hood i cant speed around like a mad man but i guess thats also realistic.

4. sometimes it is very hard to see, specially at night.

well the game actually has missions for 2 people only. also when you go to a pool hall you can play with a 2nd person there as well. i have not played to much with the 2nd player but to do it you have to find a red icon in the shape of 2 people. there is one out in the country that i know of for sure. infact its the only 1 i have found. when i play around with it a bit more i will go deeper into details.

Hehe, didn't know there was a thread about this. Probably because I never visit this section of the forums.

Anyways, I got the game on the 28th, had a long long night playing it.

I love this game, I love it. There's just so much to do, I love taking out my daily frustrations in the game.

As has been mentioned, you can play 2 player thingies in the game. You'll come across icons, just like you'll come across icons which will tell you that you can buy a piece of land orso. The PS2 will tell you to put in controler number two & the you and a friend can woop some ass together. It's like the rampage of the last GTA but with two players. While on the roads both of you have to stay on screen though. You can't complete missions together if I'm not mistaken.

You've got some nice hairstyles + facial hairstyles. I've got the afro + the goattee at the moment. Planning to change it though, I've had it for awhile.

At night you can enter a disco & then you can walk to the red spot to dance with a chick. To boogie you'll get a series of buttons to press. In random order you'll get the circle, the square, the triangle & the cross. If you execute them properly, you'll get points. Pretty cool. If you pull of weird buttons the chick will ask you something like: "Are you feeling alright?" Hehe, I don't really know what happens with the points though. Still have to figure that part out.

Oh, you have bars for Sex Appeal (hehe, like when you got a kickass hairdo like mine), muscle, fat & stamina. Probably a few more, can't remember right now.

Hmm...I found a way of making some easy cash, go to the betting bar & bet on the horse in last position. Easy money baby!

Oh, the other two that have the game, can you guys tell me if you guys have the clothing stores? I've got the food locations and some other stuff but don't seem to have the gyms + the clothing stores. I'm tired of sitting around in my white undershirt + blue jeans. Perhaps I've got to finish a few more levels, not sure though.

Anyways, if anyone wants a game worth buying (unlike Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: 3), I'd suggest buying this game a.s.a.p.

This is probably the best game to own besides Live. (Live for all the Live fans that is, probably the best game to buy for non Live fans.)

gloveguy. i have to admit i am still in los santos and infact i have only done the very first missions with sweet. i unlocked the big smoke,ryder, and ceaser. the reason for this is 2 things actually. 1 i also got nba live and that cuts into gta a bit and secondly i have not even tried any other missions. well story missions. i am trying to beat the damn ambulance one, though i think i am now gonna wait to unlock a dif city to do that. also i am working on firefighter missions(i got to lvl 11 and tipped the damn truck) and taxi missions which i beat(those are easy). i beat the courier mission and i am trying the bmx stunt one though i have only attempted it twice so far. now thats not even the big time waster for me, what i am spending most of my time on is hunting down tags. i didnt get the strat guide as i always like to beat these legit, so i am actually walking all over the damn place trying to find these. its really hard considering i get shot at almost anywhere i go lol.

i did however swim across to las ventura. once you get across you instantly get 4 stars and swat comes for you. i didnt mean to swim across actually i just crashed and swam to shore and there i was. once i realized what happened i just stole the first car i saw and tried to drive as far north into the map as i could, kinda as my own mini game.

just so you know, and anyone else who cares. the gta series was planned to be a single player game for gta3,vc, and sa. they want to make a mp gta after finishing those 3(reason they didnt name them gta4 and 5 is cause they see them all as the same story just with a different story line. if that makes sense to anyway).

so basicly the next gta is supposed to have full mp abilities. they have even talked about a gta mmo game but even i am unsure if that would really be fun. i mean a mmo game would lose all the little things that make gta so damn good. well either way, mmo or just reg mp, if the game got gta on the front of the box i am buying it.

There is 2 Player on this game.

The other Charcter is Denise who is CJ's Girlfriend (I think). I found the 2 Player Icon somewhere in Los Santos.

You can have up to TWO Gang Members. Walk up to one of the Guys in Green walking around Smoking and Drinking or whaever, Target them and hit Up on the D-Pad. BAM! He's your boy. Now he cool part is that you can hit up anywehre in town and have your boys with you in the car. Now when your not in a Vehicle, Press DOWN on the D-Pad to tell him to STAY PUT, or Press Up on the D-Pad to tell him to follow you. The Best Part about this Whole thing is the fact that when your driving, and someone's shooting at you, your Crew willn roll down the window and start shooting.

You can Respond to Pedestrians which is crazy. Like this dude said "Yo Nice Tats" I pressed Right on the D-Pad and I said "Yo Thanks!". But if a Pedestrian talks some serious shit about you, GIVE THEM THE NASTY RESPONSE. Press Left on the D-Pad for Negative Response, and Right on the D-Pad for a Positive Response.

Hehe, something I also found cool was the ramp & the biking place.

I really enjoy this game, I've pulled insane stunts jumping off bridges with cars, ($49 dollars bonus) and alot of other shit.

I've bought three houses already. I've got a Banshee in my garage plus one of the available bikes. You can only have 2 vehicles in the garage though.

Wow, This game has everything in it.

Pool, Tattoo's, Haircuts, Food, Sex, Strip Clubs, Casinos, Arcade Machines. All that to keep you from getting tired of just shooting people.

I spawned a Caddy earlier. It was the greatest thing ever, have you and a hooker having sex, IN A CADDY.

just to comment on a couple of things here.

first, a mmo means massive multiplayer online. games like everquest,dark age of camelot and city of heros are mmo games.

though it is true you can only have 2 vehicles in your garage at a time you can manipulate that. you can get a good 4-5 bikes in a garage if your fast enough. all you do is drive right next to the garage and you will see the msg that says only 2 are allowed. now jump off the bike, let the garage door open, then jump right back on and drive in. now you got 3. i tend to keep a car,bmx, and a motorcycle in my garages.

there are actually alot of 2 player icons in the game but most seem to be hidden. i have seen 3 myself but i dont remember the exact locations. the only one i can get to by memory is out in the country but i completly forget the town name.

old school is right about the 2 gang members. this helps alot when you want to do vigilante missions. get another member in the car with you so they shoot up the runaway criminal.


i see jackel said he got bought 3 houses already. i also bought 3 but all were for only 10k. i didnt do that lame ass money cheap trick that everyone seems to be doing which makes you rich right away(and i wont explain it either as its so incredibly gay), so money was sorta tight. its nice having a safe house to save or change clothes or whatever all over the map.

the bike ramp area i find kinda tough. i cant seem to beat the mission but i have alot of fun messing around there, when i aint being shot at.
