"The Village" (No Spoilers)

Postby Matt on Mon Sep 06, 2004 8:41 pm

Has anybody seen the movie "The Village". I saw the adds and was curious so i went to see the movie. I liked it a lot. It's based on a book with the same title. I won't ruin the plot for anyone but if you do see it, make sure you pay attention to ALL dialogue, if you don't you could be confused for a while

This movie isn't as creepy as the trailer suggests, but it has a couple of bits that could make you jump out of your seat. There is a good, twist in the movie. Although, I don't think twist is a good word to desrcibe it but that's the only thing I can think of.

This movie isn't superficial and doesn't have much action, but it does leave you with some questions and after watching the movie i thought the consept was cool....I'd like to elaborate but that would spoil for those that want to see it

I watched it on Saturday night and I expected it to be a scary film but there was only the occasional flashes. The movie does however have a good twist, and I agree you really need to pay attention.

Its a terrible movie, defined as his worst by many, the plot has bearing on the overall political climate of the world we live in, thats the only positive thing that you can say about this movie. The dialogue is boring, the plot is shallow, the characters are abit dull and the overall story is uninteresting. I dont want to give to much away, there is a scene near the end that is very good(alone in the woods), i was just about to turn the movie off at this point because it bored the life out of me.

3/10

Me + my friends usually see 2 movies at the theater (security sucks there); The Village sucked. It left me wondering "WTF?".

The movie sucks, in my opinion... I don`t like Night Shyamalan`s movies. The "Signs" sucked too. I got bored and fell asleep

This movie really depends from person to person. Just depends on you. You can't rely on another person's opinion on this one.

I've had lots of people tell me they like it & have had lots of people say they dislike it.

I watched it this weekend and I can say this much without spoiling it...the movie pwned Signs.

You really just have to go watch it for yourselves, don't trust others' opinions or reviews.

Btw, does Shyamalan think he's the new Hitchcock? What's with him featuring himself in all his movies? (Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs & now The Village)

I actually was going to see it a weekend or two ago but I decided to go see Without a Paddle instead. Without a paddle rocks.

I'll end up renting The Village when it comes out on video.

Yeah, he was the guy reading the news paper in the end. Heh, people always have that reaction when they seem him in the movie even though he's done it like thrice before. Get over it, you know he's going to do it. Why act as if you're surprised? Lame-brains.

Anyways, was it a microwave? I thought it was a medicine cabinet. Anyways, details...

I just found it fucking hilarious how CLEAR he made himself appear. Bah...that whole part we hardly focussed on what the other guy was doing, everyone was just watching his face since it just JUMPS OUT at you.

Hehe, I couldn't come up with his name during the whole movie. I was like I know this mofo...where do I know this mofo from though? It annoyed me during the whole movie, finally when I saw the name I was like... You moron!!

He's a bastard man, annoying fuckwit as Jae would put it.
his demise was not painfull enough or satisfying enough.
Just highlight the text between the
to see what I wrote.

throughout the whole movie the only thing i could think about is how easy it was for him to make some cash for this movie.. he acted like a dumb shit most of the time and its amazing how he probably got a 6 figure paycheck.

Damn you.

I hadn't thought of that till you said it. Bah, why can't I get paid for acting like a retard? I'll just have to be myself. But noh, Adriane Brody gets the part.

Signs was a shitty movie. I liked this one much better. At the time of watching this movie I thought it was OK. Once the credits rolled up though I was quite impressed.
