Uh-oh I'm quivering at my keyboard. There's a idiot on the internet that I am going to "get it back" from.Calven wrote:colin826 wrote:You realize it's for people like you.
Look Colin, im going to be straight with you, that means a whole post with out any insults.
I dont want to fight with anybody, Jae started that and i finished it The other few that joined in, had nothing to do anytihng me and Jae had said to each other, they just jumped straight in, with out even reading any of the posts in the thread.
Treat people the way you want to be treated. If you come at me with attitude your gonna get it back. Think about your 1st post directed at me.

1. It's restricting all new members for something that a select few might do. Would the rule apply to everyone? And would an initiation forum turn away mature people who intend to be good members? No one wants to jump through hoops to be allowed to post.
2. If members aren't allowed to post outside the initiation forum until they're ready, they're going to miss out on discussions. By the time they get in, the discussion could be over and then people will be upset when they a) start a new thread about the same topic or b) bump up the topic after it's been done with.
3. I'm not sure how you would accomplish the restriction - there'd have to be a phpBB mod for it.
Maybe a "Community" or "Town Square" forum would be more appropriate - a way for new members to introduce themselves. Of course, their reception depends not only on their attitude but the willingness of forum vets to actually welcome them.Enforcing the restriction would be difficult and would surely turn some people away.
