I've really enjoyed these OG. (Y) The past few olympiads i didn't really give a shit about, but i got into it this time round and liked it.

Channel 7 really does smoke the cock though, they showed that ridiculous horse event waaaaaaay too many times.

Twas interesting in the beginning as usual, but got boring quickly. I don't give a fuck about Thorpie, or Jana Whoreman, and that's basically what the olympics were all about in Australia. Oh and every opportunity to point out that "Sydney were the best Olympics ever blah blah". Channel 7 was promoting their coverage of the latest news during the olympics, and kept replaying these clips of Jana walking without her crutches, and "what Thorpie thinks about drug cheats". I never want to hear those names again after hearing them several times during every comercial break, and then constantly during the actual coverage.

I did see some basketball so that was (y). Roy and HG and "The Dream" were somewhat entertaining as usual, but I didn't watch that too much because you can only laugh at "hello boys", "chicko roll", "battered sav" and "flat bag" so many times. The Beach Volleyball would have been better if the chicks were hotter/less dykier, but it was ok.

It seems that the disinterest of the Greeks spread. There was no athmosphere at the events, and they seemed meaningless. I don't give a fuck if you can hit clay with a gun, or if you can row, because, well, nobody else cares. The athletics are full of steriod swollowing over-muscular women with facial hair, while the Gymnastics show disgusting little girls who need my mama's cabbage rolls to get some colour back into their skin.

I don't mean to put such a negative spin on it... yeah I do.

the only atmosphere i saw was at the Handball when Germany was playing somebody else, i forgot. Also at the Volleyball when Poland played Brazil....mined you we lost in straight sets but the atmosphere was like at a football game....drums, whistles, cheering etc

go the Polish, we know how to support our team.....our 50km walker had more supporteres than USA vs Aus in the gold medal game combined

that's true.....i forgot my point damnit!!

anyways, it was just shit to see a lack of people at the basketball. It was just American and Australians.....i don't even think there was even 1 greek

oh well, now Greece is debt....instead of bidding for the Olympics they should have done something constructive with the money like say.....help the homeless and those who need it most, spent the money on education, pumped some $$$ into healthcare etc

Don't worry man, now that they've hosted the Olympics, they'll triple the price of anything associated with Tourism. Foreigners who go to Greece will be paying through their hassholes and the debt will be paid off. I remember a time when Euro's went to Greece for summer vacation because it was beautiful and cheap.

hey did anybody see what happened at the marathon? man that would suck. If i was behind the leader and then infront cos of what happened to him I'd be inclined to let him win....I mean, i wouldn't feel right with a gold knowing that i wasn't the best

and at the closing ceremony the IOC Pres said that the olympics were a 'memorable dream' or some shiat like that....hahah, honestly they blowed

I guess Greeks gonna have to pay huge taxes now through thei hassholes

The same idiot that ran out onto the track of the Italian Grand Prix ran out and forced the leader into the crowd. Some idiot who likes making a spectacle of himself at big events.

I thought Prime/Seven's coverage of the Olympics left a lot to be desired. At least SBS was providing secondary coverage, showing more events without interruption and catering to more specialist interests. As with the 2000 Games, Prime/Seven would cut away at key moments and miss quite a bit of action cutting back and forth and taking commercial breaks at the wrong time. More basketball than the 2000 Games, but still, (N) to their coverage.

Roy & HG with The Dream was certainly a highlight. I agree with Stevan, some of their material got old quickly but some of it was simply hilarious the first time around.

The phenomenon of constantly empty seats was amazing (for all the wrong reasons). I don't think that this was one of the more memorable Olympics. Like Stevan, my interest waned after the first week or so especially as the basketball coverage dwindled.

apparently the guy that blindsided the brazilian athlete was some priest.. cops said he's extremely religious and smart, although im not really sure about the latter he almost did get run over in the grand prix.. i'm really impressed how the brazilian kept his cool - seemed like he was enjoying himself on the podium.. gah, if i was one of the spectators there that saw the priest blindside that guy i would've definately whooped his ass.. i usually get a real good kick out of streakers (the ones that come out during an intermission or a timeout ) but to actually try to harm an athlete, that's low.. hope that stupid fuck gets thrown in jail for that even though apparently he "intended no harm"

Apparentely the reason he tackled him was to "prepare for the second coming". I'm going to try and re-create his thought process...
